According to The Wrestling Observer, AEW superstar Will Ospreay now owns the United Empire trademark.
The rights include:
- Shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts; Hats; Bandanas; Socks
- Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes
The faction was formed in 2020 by Ospreay and The Great-O-Khan when Ospreay turned his back on Chaos and its leader and mentor, Kazuchika Okada.
Jeff Cobb, Henare, TJP, Francesco Akira and Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher) and “Lord” Gideon Grey would later fill out the faction’s roster.
Ospreay would leave the Empire in the hands of TJP when he left for AEW. Callum Newman would take over from TJP with Dan Moloney and Bea Priestley joining the faction.
Under IWGP Heavyweight Champion Newman, the faction now consists of Andrade El Idolo, Francesco Akira, The Great-O-Khan, Henare, Jake Lee, Jakob Austin Young, Templario, Zane Jay and Ospreay.
Ospreay returned to NJPW earlier this month at Sakura Genesis. He and stablemates The Great-O-Khan and Henare defeated Yuya Uemura, Taichi & El Desperado.
After the bell, The Great-O-Khan had El Desperado in a claw hold. Khan held Desperado open for Henare and Ospreay to strike. Ospreay looked conflicted. Henare super kicked Desperado in the face. Ospreay seemed confused.
“We won. What was the point in that?” Ospreay asked Henare and Khan.
“This is how we do things now,” answered Khan.
Khan then booted Uemura out of the ring.
Khan, Ospreay and Henare raised each other’s hands in victory.
The United Empire also assisted Will Ospreay with The Death Riders in AEW recently.
