Authorities in California are searching for ex-WWE star Shad Gaspard.

Gaspard went missing after swimming with his wife and 10-year-old son at Venice Beach.

While his son and other swimmers were rescued after a rip current hit, Gaspard has yet to be found.

Shad Gaspard began his wrestling career in 2002 after working as a bodyguard for such stars as Britney Spears and Puff Daddy.

After wrestling as “Da Beast” in WWE’s OVW, he moved to the WWE with his partner JTG as the Cryme Tyme tag team.

Gaspard left the WWE in 2010 assembling quite the filmography as an actor and a stuntman working on such films as Birds of Prey and Officer Downe and such television shows as Big Time Rush, The Haunted Hathaways, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series and the television move The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time.

He also did the motion capture work for video games. He was Bane in Batman: The Enemy Within and Kratos in 2018’s God of War.

On Twitter, superstars hoped for some good news soon.

“We go at it on here from time to time over bs stuff but I love Shad. Always have. Always will. I am sitting here now stunned at this. I pray to God he is okay,” wrote Mike Bucci (ECW’s Nova).

“Lord Jesus I pray for a miracle for Shad right now,” wrote Angelina Love.

A rip current occurs near beaches with breaking waves. It cuts through the lines of breaking waves like a river running out to sea. A rip current is strongest and fastest nearest the surface. Rip currents can be hazardous to people in the water and are the leading cause of rescues by lifeguards at beaches in the United States.
