TNA Wrestling: Kazarian will ‘Walk With Elijah’ in the main event

Time to go make an Impact on this TNA Wrestling on AMC. Your superstar scribe, Boris Aguilar, is away on assignment, so I will cover the action.

Mustafa Ali puts the TNA International title on the line with Adam Brooks and Mara Sade. Allie and Rosemary will have a six-woman match against Tessa Blanchard, Mila Moore, and Victoria Crawford. Plus, Frankie Kazarian is going to “Walk with Elijah” in his eponymous match in the main event.

We come to you at the Upstate Medical University Arena At The Oncenter War Memorial in Syracuse, NY. Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt have the call, and your First Match of the night is…

Jeff Hardy vs. Vincent

Time to get Helter Skelter in the squared circle, dig what I’m saying?

Things are not looking so Righteous with Vincent early on. Hardy wants the swanton, and he rolls out. He takes the fight to Vincent outside and then dumps him back in the ring. Hardy tries to fly, and Vincent keeps grounding Jeff. He tries to injure his back, and the Charismatic Enigma gets a second wind and goes on the offensive against Vincent. He tries a bulldog, but Hardy reverses to the Twist of Fate for a two count. His innovative offense can’t keep Vincent down, and the leader of The Righteous is equally frustrated. The lights go out, and then…Broken Matt Hardy is out to declare he is Deleted!

The lights go out again, and Hardy delivers the Swanton to end the match.

Gia Miller is backstage and welcomes Frankie Kazarian. She inquires his thoughts on a “Walk With Elijah” match and how he will approach it. Kazarian lists his accolades in the first-ever Ultimate X match and the inaugural King of the Mountain match, and how, in every circumstance, he comes out on top. Tonight is no different, as he assures us after he’s done with Elijah that everyone will walk with the king.

TNA International Title Match: Mustafa Ali (with Order 4) (c) vs. Adam Brooks

This came about because Ali demanded the best face him for the belt, and The Loose Ledge from Down Under answered the call.

Ali looks dominant early on in the match, and when Brooks attacks with a boot, he is blocked, and the champ catches him with a spinning roundhouse kick.

The Aussie is not to be denied and follows Ali outside the ring. He gives chase, and Ali spikes him hard to the floor.

Brooks is hanging on a Loose Ledge but won’t go down easily. Ali is crisp with the counters and nails a standing switch DDT. Brooks catches him in the breadbasket with a punch and then dives outside. Then he powerbombs Ali, followed by a Fisherman’s Buster on his knee for a count of two. Brooks tries to finish him off, but Ali ducks out, and a 450 splash allows him to retain.

Mara Sade, Allie, and Rosemary vs. Tessa Blanchard, Mila Moore, and Victoria Crawford

There is a lot to process here, as commentary notes Allie “died” seven years ago and was brought back to life when Rosemary took her to the undead world and…yeah, she’s alive, but a bit peckish for faces.

Crawford starts with Rosemary, but she takes shots at Allie and Sade before setting her sights on the Demon Assassin. It isn’t long before all three women turn the tables on Crawford and company, and then…

Ads (I normally hate it when it happens in the middle of a match, but this time, I’m glad, so I can process what took place)

We come back, and Rosemary is isolated and at the mercy of Blanchard, Moore, and Crawford, placing the Demon Assassin in Peril. She kicks out and gets the hot tag to Allie. She is a Zombie Bunny en Fuego, attacking anyone who dares come her way.

She and Rosemary then have them visit the Upside Down, and there is chaos in the ring until Allie delivers with the Codebreaker, giving them an “undead awakening.”

We now have the TNA Injury Report with the following:

  • Santana and Swann are off after the effects of their last bout
  • Trey Miguel out after laceration to the knee following title loss
  • Kazarian and Elijah cleared ahead of their main event

We learn that Santina Marella is cleared from suspension and delivers a message to the TNA fans that he is going to set things right as he is now back in his role as TNA Director of Authority.

Now, at the second hour, Indi Hartwell is out and back from suspension. While she’s glad that Daria Rae finally saw the error of her ways, she has some unfinished business with Ariana Grace, and she’s coming for her first.

Mike Santana is backstage, cutting a promo on how he and Swann represented TNA last week. Nic Nemeth comes in and suggests that since he’s a Call Your Shot winner, he could be out for his TNA Heavyweight championship soon, leaving him with…nothing.

Jerk.

Daria Rae is on a conference call learning of the reinstatements of Hartwell and Marella. That’s when Hartwell barges in all smug, but Daria lets her know her contract is up and to tread lightly.

Now for a match I think SOMEONE asked for, The Personal Concierge makes his introduction and we get…

Mr. Elegance (with The Elegance Brand and The Personal Concierge) vs. The Home Town Man

HTM is out in a Syracuse University basketball jersey, playing up for the crowd, which I admit is a lot of fun. Also, this is my first time looking at Mr. Elegance, and I gotta say…He reminds me of what would happen if “Jungle” Jack Perry got juiced up.

Backstage, Sade, Rosemary, and Allie celebrate their win, and it’s a lot to take in. Especially when Rosemary has to deal with the girlie-ness of Allie and Sade.

Same, Rosemary. Same.

Gia Miller comes to Lei Ying Lee, who is despondent. She wants to go back home to China after Xia Brookside turned on her. She wants to go to Santino Marella to grant her release. Out comes Tommy Dreamer, who understands a thing or two about friends turning on him (quoth the Dreamer, “Nevermore”), but she represents everyone who fights, and she needs to believe in herself. After that pep talk, Lee is ready to keep up the good fight.

Leon Slater comes out to address the Syracuse faithful on getting closer to the records as the youngest and longest reigning X-Division champion. But he needs to address Cedric Alexander, who wants another shot at the title. He’s down for it in order to shut him up.

Alexander comes out and states he deserves the belt. He says they will fight in Sacramento on May 14th, but he may not make it there. That’s when The System jumps him.

Then Moose comes out to run down his former stable and lays everyone out.

Ryan Nemeth feels left out and is not getting the same opportunities as his brother. AJ Franci$ is tired of Ryan channeling his inner Jan Brady and lays it out that he doesn’t care about his family drama and to leave him out of it.

Hannifan and Rehwoldt go over the rules in a “Walk With Elijah” match:

  • Both men will be bound by a guitar strap
  • It will be a No Disqualification match, so anything goes
  • They will battle in the back, and they must win in the ring by,
  • Touching all four top turnbuckles in a row to win

Yeah, this is a glorified leather strap match, but with more zing. So play along, folks.

Backstage, the refs harness the two men, and we start the main event, which is the…

“Walk With Elijah” Match: Frankie Kazarian vs. Elijah

It’s a brawl backstage as they brutalize each other, walking towards the ring. All sorts of plunder are utilized, and then Elijah picks up Kazarian to head to the ring, leading to…

Ads (again, I should be annoyed that this happens during a match. Given the convoluted rules, though, I’ll allow it)

We come back, and they are outside the ring, and the action goes to the barricades and into the crowd. Finally, it gets in the squared circle, and Elijah Walks this Way to a sunset powerbomb. Elijah touches three turnbuckles, but Kazarian whips him with the straps. He throws Elijah over the top ropes, but he tumbles out with him.

Both men tug each other into the steel posts. Once they get back in the squared circle, Kazarian gets him in a chicken wing to better control him, but Elijah carries him to touch the three corners but can’t get the fourth.

He goes up for a high-risk move, but gets a knee to the head from Elijah. They go for the big guns, and Kazarian touches the three corners, and the straps snap. He chokes Kazarian and then touches the three corners. Kazarian tries to stop him at the fourth, but Elijah grabs a guitar, and the El KaBong on his skull allows him to touch the final turnbuckles to win.

Your Winner: Elijah

Fans cheer as The Drifter celebrates a win in his signature match as the show comes to a close.
