TNA iMPACT Wrestling: Leon Slater and The Amazing Red want the Nemeth Brothers tag gold

On this TNA iMPACT Wrestling show, Ryan and Nic Nemeth look to keep the TNA tag team gold around their waists as they defend the belts in the main event from X-Division champion The Amazing Red and TNA World Heavyweight champion Leon Slater. Plus, The Righteous look to initiate Harley Hudson into their fold.  Dig what they’re saying?

As our “Bodacious” Boris Roberto Aguilar is still away on assignment, there is a replay of last week’s Halloween show with The Hardys and syX after the Slaughterhouse syX match.

We come to you from the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, AL. Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt have the call, and Moose comes out to ringside with a few things on his mind. He tells the Alabama crowd that, after talking with Matt Hardy, he’s been off and needs to get back to his roots. He calls out The syX, and he’s laser-focused on them.

The lights darken, and Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw come out and answer his challenge. The numbers loom to be in their favor until Matt Hardy comes to Moose’s aid.

Red and Slater are backstage, and Red thanks the fans for putting him in the TNA Hall of Fame, and Slater is honored to fight alongside the man who laid the groundwork for guys like him.  Out comes Trey Miguel, who greets the men and asks Slater about focusing on the tag titles ahead of his championship match before Destination X. Either way, he’ll be keeping a close eye on him at commentary.

Daria Rae and Indi Hartwell bicker backstage, and the Knockouts champion practically rage baits the TNA Director of Operations until Brian Johnson stops her from making a mistake.

Aw, come on.  Let ’em fight, Brian!

Now back to the ring, where Mustafa Ali joins at commentary to watch your First Match of the night between…

Avery Styles and Frankie Kazarian vs. Hunter James and Alexander Lev

For those of you not familiar, Lev was once part of the National Wrestling Alliance. James is more familiar on the indie scene in the southeastern U.S.

Mostly, this is a showcase for AJ Styles’ son, and he has his dad’s athleticism.

James and Lev isolate Styles until he stages a comeback, slips out and gets the hot tag to Kazarian, and he is Calling his Shot en Fuego.  Back to Styles, and he delivers the Spiral Tap on Lev for the pin and the win.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Frankie Kazarian and Avery Styles

Ali gets on the mic to give advice to Styles, and Kazarian clocks him before he gets a chance.

Alisha gets in the grills of Cedric Alexander and Brian Myers to stop this fight with her husband, Eddie, and Bear Bronson.  Neither man will do it, and they both agree that whatever issues those two have, they need to get them out of their system, so to speak.

That leads us right to the next match between…

Eddie Edwards vs. Bear Bronson

This is to determine who will lead The System moving forward.  They argue nose to nose and then lock up.

Bronson takes it to the Veteran Saint and then…

Ads (I hate when they do that in the middle of a match, no matter which promotion does it.)

We come back, and Edwards outmuscles the big man with a spinning flapjack, then dives onto Bronson on the floor.  He charges after him, and Bronson catches him and slams him on the ramp.  Both men are winded, and the ref starts to count them out, but they cross back in at nine.  Bronson nails with a sit-out choke bomb and covers but gets a two count.

He props him in the corner for a superplex.  Edwards counters with a sunset flip, and Bronson charges like the hungry bear he is.  Edwards finally ends it with the Boston Tea Party, and that’s all she wrote.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Eddie Edwards

After the match, Alexander and Myers come out, hoping this settles matters. Bronson and Edwards embrace, and The System is intact…for now.

Now it’s time for your TNA injury report and here’s the rundown:

  • Jeff Hardy is out with head injuries following the Slaughterhouse syX match last week
  • Styles has an ankle injury after the opening match and is listed and day-to-day
  • BDE is out after his brutal match with Agent Zero

Daria Rae tells Brian Johnson not to file an incident report with the TNA Board of Directors and to leave it be.  Just then, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella comes out and doesn’t think much of Johnson “babysitting” Rae.  Even the Director of Operations doesn’t think he respects him.

But let’s return to the squared circle as the Knockouts bring you the next match between…

Allie and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz)

This is the debut match of Blackheart, and I say, “Welcome back to TNA, Shotzi!”

She and Steelz start, and the Ballsy Badass makes it clear this is her ring.

Tiger feint kick, and then she goes high risk but misses the mark.  Tag to Hogan, and Allie is champing at the bit.  She gets tagged in and goes on a tear after her former friend.  Steelz provides outside interference as they isolate Allie, making her a Bunny in Peril.

Hot tag to Blackheart, and she is a Ballsy Badass en Fuego as she nails a suicide dive.

It goes to a Pier Four brawl, and Allie and Blackheart even get Fire ‘N Flava in stereo submissions.  When it was all said and done, The Badass secures the victory with a senton to Hogan.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Allie and Shotzi Blackheart

After the match, Steelz attacks and Fire ‘N Flavq spoil their win with a beatdown

Mila Moore breaks up with John Skyler because she doesn’t date losers.

Jerk.

Having been down this road before, allow me to add an…

(Author’s Note:  Hey Skyler.  Trust me, it could be worse.  At least you weren’t dumped by a girl who went back to an ex that f***ed a stripper that looked like her.  It’s about perspective.)

Meanwhile, M by Elegance apologizes to Heather by Elegance, and wants to make it up to her…by having her join her magazine cover shoot.  Heather thinks that would be good, and in steps Elayna Black who calls it a crock.  Heather decides she’ll talk to Daria Rae to make a match between them so Black can stop getting in their Elegance business.

It’s time for…

Vincent gets on the mic and asks Hudson a few questions. She answers that she is ready to be Righteous, but she has to repeat the following:

“I am Righteous, for we are many. While you were making up your mind, someone else already did.”

With that, Xia Brookside blindsides Hudson, and she is now Righteous with Vincent and Dutch.

Dig what they’re saying, man?

Matt Hardy cuts a promo on The syX, and he says they’re in for a painful Twist of Fate. Moose feels the same way, and that’s why Hardy went to Marella so they will face Sawyer and Shaw at Destination X.

But until then, it’s time for the Main Event for the…

TNA World Tag Team Championship: The Nemeths (Nic and Ryan Nemeth) (c) vs. The Amazing Red and Leon Slater

Trey Miguel is at commentary to get a closer look at Slater, as he promised at the start of the show.

Nic and Red start, and both men feel each other out, but the TNA Hall of Famer gets the better of him.

Tag to Slater, and the TNA Heavyweight champ takes control until he moves to Ryan for the tag, and the Nemeth brothers use their tag chemistry.  Slater overcomes the odds and mounts Nic with punches, then tags Red for more of the same.  They toss them out, and Red and Slater attempt a dive, but Nic and Ryan smartly roll away and then…

More ads (C’mon, Carlos Silva?  How hard is it to spring for some Picture in Picture action, eh?)

We come back, and Red was apparently in peril until he rolls through for the hot tag to Slater.  He goes for a high-risk maneuver, and Nic trips him up top to allow Ryan to take advantage of the situation.  A heel kick later, and Slater tags in Red to take care of the Nemeth brothers.

All hell breaks loose as Red lands with a crossbody on Nic and Ryan, pushes Slater to the ref to break up the count, and knocks him out.  Ryan uses a tag belt to drill Slater, and then helps his brother with the same move across Red’s noggin and Nic delivers the Danger Zone for the one, two, and three.

Your Winners, and Still TNA Tag Team Champions:  The Nemeth Brothers

As Ryan and Nic celebrate, a familiar guitar strum signals that Elias has some unfinished business as he chases them off, closing out the show.
