The Aerial Assassin and The Best Bout Machine tear down Wembley at AEW All In PPV

Welcome to the All IN PPV recap from Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Let’s start things off with the…

ALL IN Buy-In

The first match of the night is…

The Rascalz and Lio Rush vs The Opps (Shibata, Hook, Bowens, Andretti)

It was nice of Lio to match with Rascalz by wearing green. A fast-paced match; everyone got their moves in. Despite their motto, The Opps certainly got caught lacking as Lio Rush got his team the victory with the Final Hour.

Winners – The Rascalz and Lio Rush

Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron vs The Sisters of Sin

A good chunk of this match featured Skye and Julia working over Harley, which, credit to everyone involved, got the crowd invested by the latter stage of the match. At last, Statlander’s Sunday Night Fever on Julia got the job done.

Winners – Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron

Hurt Syndicate, Boom & Doom vs Shane Taylor Promotions

Two takeaways from this match:

1.) Boom and Doom can have a match on the buy-in/zero hour of every PPV, and I wouldn’t mind.

2.) Hurt Syndicate should be on AEW programming much more than they already are. Still insanely over.

Winners – Hurt Syndicate, Boom & Doom

A wild Bryan Danielson emerges to join the commentary team, and to say the crowd was ecstatic would be an understatement.

AEW TBS Championship: Maya World (c) vs Persephone

On to the match, a lot of nice exchanges in the beginning. It was back-and-forth, and neither woman could control the match for long.

Question – Anyone expected a title change? No, right.

Then a masked assailant, who turned out to be the returning Dr Britt Baker DMD, cost Maya World her title. The pop when she did the Lockjaw as the crowd realized who it was was incredible.

Winner (And New AEW TBS Champion) – Persephone

‘The Toxic Spider’ Thekla made her first appearance since Redemption, essentially giving a warning to whoever wins the Women’s World Championship match later on the night.

Lexy Nair caught up with the new TBS Champion Persephone and Britt Baker, who are now after Thunder Rosa based on their mutual hatred of her.

Trios Roulette Royale for the AEW World Trios Championship

To anyone still confused, this is basically a gauntlet-style battle royal with Trios. Anyway, with no love lost between them, it is the Bang Bang Gang and the Dogs who start things off. The Demand were next, and the crowd started with the “Bald” chants immediately. Lovely stuff.

The first elimination is Colten Gunn and Austin soon followed suit; you get the gist. The Death Riders were getting cheers, courtesy of PAC for obvious reasons. Roddy hitting Marina with a backbreaker got the loudest pop so far. Couple Goals.

The Trios match bled into the….

AEW All In Main Card

The teams were still fighting, with the Wild Card team still to come. Swerve Strickland came out first, then was joined by…Austin Creed and Kofi billed as “The New Level”.

The new champions were confirmed when Ricochet eliminated Hangman. Eventually, Swerve and New Level eliminated the Death Riders to become the new champs.

It’s truly a New Day, isn’t it? (I’m Sorry, I had to.)

AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship: Divine Dominion (c) vs The Brawling Birds

The hometown girls, the Birds, came out to huge cheers from the crowd. The challengers showed great tag team synergy early, but the champions, who have been dominant in their run, soon got control back.

They did well keeping Hayter isolated in their corner. Two lariats by the former Women’s World Champ gave the opening for a Windsor hot tag. Two Birds, One Stone was enough to keep Kross down as new champions were crowned.

Three title matches so far, three title changes.

AEW Continental Challenge Cup and Continental Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs Nigel McGuinness

The atmosphere was great, with the crowd trading chants. Both men showed great wrist work. A basement dropkick by Mox got Nigel done properly to work over him. He then started removing the wrapping on Nigel’s ankle, which backfired as Nigel used it to wrap around Mox’s face, temporarily blinding him. Nigel’s body may not be the same, but he’s still a master of the craft.

Nigel smartly used his chin to get out of the Bulldog choke, then had the London Dungeon locked in just enough to make you believe that Mox might tap. Unfortunately, it was heartbreak at the end as, after multiple attempts of the ankle lock, Nigel had to tap, missing the rope by just fingertips.

Winner, And Still AEW Continental Champion – Jon Moxley

Post-match, Nigel got his flowers as the Wembley crowd serenaded him; in turn, he even hobbled around and bowed to them.

AEW International Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs Kazuchika Okada vs Konosuke Takeshita

Fletcher set the tone by super kicking Okada out of the ring, which had Takeshita’s jaw drop to the floor. Reminiscent of HBK doing the same to Hunter in the triple threat with Cena back in the day. The Rainmaker got control of the match soon despite this. “This is Awesome” chants, and it indeed was, all three men giving it their all.

Even though they are supposed to be part of the same faction, they didn’t even work together for ten seconds. Takeshita and Fletcher showed more teamwork, with the crowd feeling it briefly with “Protoshita” chants.

In the end, it was Okada who stood tall, taking advantage of Fletcher, who was concentrated on Takeshita, pinning him after a Rainmaker.

Winner, And New AEW International Champion: – Kazuchika Okada

Post-match, with clear dissatisfaction, Fletcher raised the hand of Okada like promised on Dynamite.

Time now for the…

Casino Gauntlet – AEW World Championship Number One Contender

One of the better ones the company has done. It was great, but the main highlight is Justin Roberts messing up Komander’s name with Mistico, who was coming after that. Fair play to everyone involved; they recovered the situation. Didn’t matter much either, as Komander had the whole stadium standing within seconds.

Random Intervals and some entrants not coming out to their entrances were smart additions. It was Andrade, who took advantage to become the number one contender.

Winner – Andrade El Idolo

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage (c) vs The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)

A promo package played before the Bucks’ entrances, recapping their careers. Their entrance wall and gear are also full of easter eggs to spot.

Cope and Cage both drew big cheers; it was a dream match in every sense of the word.

The champs were imposing their advantage on Matt for a while, until Nick got the tag and the momentum switched. Again, not for long, as the champs’ experience came in handy, and they got control back.

After a lot of near falls, something had to give. Finally, Christian’s sneaky tactics, followed by a spear by Copeland, had the veteran tag team retaining after a dream match that lived up to the hype.

Following the match, the Motor City Machine Guns and a returning FTR both threw their hat in the ring. Not to miss out on the fun, New Level also made an appearance. Now Tony’s just flexing how deep the tag roster is. We leave with endless possibilities.

Falls Count Anywhere for the TNT Championship: Kevin Knight (c) vs Darby Allin

Kevin tried to get the jump on Darby, but he saw it coming – didn’t the second time. The stipulation’s chaos didn’t let either man control the match for long.

It wasn’t too long before the Don Callis Family showed up with Brian Cage and Jake Doyle. Steve Borden Jr came to even the odds for Darby, but the numbers game caught up.

Kevin had Darby set up for a Coast to Coast from a few weeks ago. Then the lights went off…

IT’S STINGGGG.

Giving all three members of the family a piece of him. Sting and his son shared a moment on top of a ladder no less, before Jr. took off.

It was one-on-one again, then…uhh…Darby did a Coffin drop from at least 20ft through the stage. O

One more and Darby was TNT Champion again.

Now for the first of the two main events, and this is for the…

AEW Women’s World Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs Mercedes Moné

Am I overthinking this, or was that a ‘Black Swan’ reference for Mercedes’ entrance?

Willow had a promo package that was just perfect….the pop that followed proved it worked.

Match was intense from the get-go; all over the ringside, Moné bloodied and Nightingale going face-first into the exposed turnbuckle. Moné focused her offense on her injured arm. She had the Statement Maker clinched in, but Nightingale, showcasing her strength, powered through to hit a Death Valley Driver. She also managed to kick out of a Moné Maker, even after going face-first into the exposed turnbuckle beforehand.

A ref bump followed.

Moné is contorting Nightingale’s arms and fingers in ways that would make Zack Sabre, Jr. proud. Willow hit Babe with the Power after recovering, but the referee couldn’t get there in time for a three count. Moné finally is Champion as she faded after being in a Statement Maker.

Now for the main event for the….

AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Will Ospreay

After a promo package with a voice-over from his mum, we start backstage with Ospreay flanked by his United Empire compatriots. We see ZSJ, Michael Oku, Ricochet, and Swerve Strickland all giving him approving nods along the way. Aussie Open gave him the way, his wife Alex Windsor with a loving embrace, and Jon Moxley gave him the Union Jack Flag before his music hit. The hometown crowd gave him a thunderous ovation, one of the loudest you’ll ever hear. Obviously going All Out (pun intended) for his coronation.

Omega has his own promo package, but the vibe is entirely different. I’m not explaining, you just have to see it. It’s Epic; that’s all I’ll say.

He walks out with the conviction of a man who has more or less completed Pro Wrestling. He is flanked by the Bucks like during the New Japan days.

Even their opening lock-up had the crowd hyped. After the opening exchanges, Omega targeted Ospreay’s most vulnerable body part: his neck.

Later on, Ospreay pushed the referee, giving Omega the opening to smash a monitor into his head. Afterward, it was Omega for a while; the champion, who was starting to sound and look like a madman, upped the trash talk while beating his opponent down further.

Ospreay didn’t forget, giving it all back with some devastating forearms to the back of the head that would take out anybody. Omega met an Oscutter attempt with a knee to the back.

Omega looked to finish things off with a Tiger Driver ’91 and a One-Winged Angel. Ospreay kicked out. Yes, the first man since Kota Ibushi to kick out of the move. Ospreay, after recovering, did both of these as well, but Omega kicked out at one…..a Hidden Blade and a Stormbreaker…again at one. However, the damage was done; one final Hidden Blade did the job.

Will Ospreay is on top of the world.

Ospreay is overcome with emotion as he is the first British person to win a major title on English soil, as the PPV closes.
