Ospreay gets his Revenge on Moxley at All Out

After a brief detour to Canada last year, AEW returns to Chicago for All Out. Let’s kick off the coverage with Tailgate Brawl prior to the Main Card.

Jack Perry vs Katsuyori Shibata

Perry defeated Shibata after the latter went for a Choke but Perry rolled him up for the three count. Post match, Samoa Joe returned and headbutted Perry to send a message.

Sisters of Sin vs Mina Shirakawa & Queen Aminata

The Sisters of Sin came away with the victory after the hometown girl, Skye Blue hit a Code Blue on Mina Shirakawa with cheers from the crowd.

Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Jay White) vs The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) & Death Riders (Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta)

Just like Jay White, lot of Football references that i absolutely did not get. Still a very fun plunder match, White won it for his team with the Blade runner.

All Out – Main Card

AEW National Championship: Andrade El Idolo vs PAC

We kick off the PPV with Andrade and PAC, great choice may I add. The Chicago crowd was excited with dueling chants for the two men. They were also in a hurry apparently as both were looking for finisher early on. PAC’s Death Rider privileges were in full flow as Marina Shafir was getting some shots in on Andrade while PAC had the referee distracted.

Andrade wait a little too much for the running knees as PAC got up in time to throw him over his head with a Belly-to-Belly. Shafir choking out the ‘selfie girl’ out of nowhere was a good bit. The champ retained after quickly reversing the Brutalizer into a roll up. It was a good match and was never going to be anything less than that.

Winner (And Still) – Andrade El Idolo

Darby Allin and Steven Borden vs Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight

Winners get a future tag title match, don’t understand why that was tacked on to this but ok. Fletcher and Borden start things off, Borden does a beautiful arm drag just have to mention it. The family soon isolated Allin from his partner and started working over the TNT Champion.

Borden finally got the tag, but the inexperience showed as he accidentally gave jumped right on to the post. The match didn’t last as it would come to an abrupt end as Borden was unable to continue after a rough landing. Hope he’s alright and recovers soon.

TBS Championship Open Challenge

Persephone’s challenge was answered by none other than Dani Luna; a former 2 TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion, RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion etc. The Crowd were still in a bit of shock what happened before, hence the muted reactions. Persephone didn’t have the strength advantage she had with Hyan on Dynamite ad Luna was matching her power.

Persephone got a little too ahead of herself and ate a huge right hand to the jaw. It took intervention from Baker for Persephone to get the advantage. With a little help from Baker and a Crucifix Powerbomb had Persephone retaining. Great outing by Luna in her debut, had the crowd rooting for by the end, fantastic addition to the roster.

AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada vs Tommaso Ciampa

“Holy Sh*t” chants and they haven’t even moved a muscle. Early on it was a game of one upsmanship by the pair, but kept finding themselves in an impasse neither were getting the advantage. The incessant chirping of Don Callis got the attention of Ciampa long enough for Okada take advantage.

Giving Ciampa a DDT infront of his family, then giving his daughter the middle finger after she refused a high five, classy as always Okada. He did get what was coming to him right after though.

Ciampa fought back and there was one near fall that had everyone convinced we had a new champions, however a Rainmaker meant the championship stayed with the Don Callis Family. Personally, it exceeded all expectations for me and Ciampa’s daughter really did lighten mood in the arena.

AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship: Brawling Birds vs Divine Dominion – Chicago Street Fight

They didn’t even finish their entrances before both teams started brawling on the ramp. Soon enough, all sorts of weapons and objects were seen throughout the ringside area. Chairs, Tables, Kendosticks etc. Hayter actually went through one, this effectively turned match into a 2-1 for a while.

Hayter got a little bit of revenge with a DDT on the barbed wire wrapped chair, Bayne was covered in blood after a while. Lena Kross was put through a guard rail, Alex Windsor through stacker up chairs. Hayter with a Death Valley Driver on Bayne through a barbed wire table. Afterwards a Two Birds, One Stone on Kross through tumb tacks got the three count.

It was a bloody good street fight, all four women went through hell and back. Very good. Curious to see where they all go from here.

Tony Schiavone gives an update on Steven Borden and says that he is at the hospital; concious, responsive and is talking about the match and how it went down. Here’s to a quick recovery for him.

AEW World Trios Championship: Swerve Strickland and New Level vs ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Brodido

Bandido and Kofi starts the proceedings, imagine saying that a year ago. They go back and forth a bit, before tagging out to their respective partners. Here, King easily gets the better over Creed due to the size adavantage. It didn’t take long before Strickland and Page’s animosity to come to the front as they started going at it on the outside.

This chaos allowed the champions to take control of the match, Strickland continues taunting Page while attacking Bandido. Eventually, they find themselves as the legal participants and all hell breaks loose. Finally, Bandido hits an X-Knee on Strickland before setting him up for a 21 Plex and but he lands on his feet, catching Bandidowith a Big Pressure for the win to retain.

I’ll take another match please, seriously what a match. It’s great to see the Trios Championship feel important again

Number 1 Contenders Match for the Women’s World Championship: Willow Nightingale vs Thekla

Things start off fast as both women want to get the upper hand as soon as possible. Nightingale’s pounce gives her the edge in the opening section, it didn’t last long as Thekla chopped her from the top of the turnbuckle to the outside, followed by a double stomp to the back.

Both almost got counted as they didn’t notice the referee’s count. Willow bridged out off a pin attempt by Thekla after a spear and they had an upside down staredown? I’m sorry I don’t really know how to describe that. Julia Hart and Skye Blue made an appearance trying to help Thekla, which almost went completely wrong. Thekla then focused on Nightingale’s injured hand and finished it off with a stomp for the win.

Winner – Thekla

Post match, The Music of Mercedes Mone was heard around the arena, she came out and both women had a staredown. It is now official, Mercedes Mone vs Thekla at Wrestle Dream for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage vs Young Bucks vs FTR – 3 Way Ladder Match

All title matches have seen the champions retaining, smelling a title change here, Let’s see. All 6 men go at it with no hesitation, its only been a few minutes but Harwood has started bleeding. The first man to get close was Matt, who had his hand on the titles before being pulled away.

Copeland had both the Bucks slam their back on to a ladder within moments of one another. Cage then hit Nick with a Killswitch on a ladder. Copeland’s attempt at climbing the ladder was stopped after Stoke caught him with a low blow, he got his comeuppance right after as he went through a table of his own.

3 Ladders are set up in the middle of the ring with all of them battling it out, one by one all went down and ended with Shatter Machine on Nick from the Ladder. In the end, Young Bucks grabbed the titles and became AEW World Tag Team Champions after a BTE Trigger on Cage from the top of the Ladder.

Fantastic Match, everyone tried their fullest to make this great and succeeded . Also have to mention this has been a very good championship reign for Copeland and Cage.

AEW World Championship: Will Ospreay vs Jon Moxley

It is time for the main event as Will Ospreay makes his defence of his championship against the one man, who he has failed to beat this year. A special Assassin’s Creed theme hype package for Ospreay. Flanked by ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey and Francesco Akira, he lights a Death Riders flag on fire as he makes way to the ring.

Both being smart about this, not wanting to give the opponent any opening. Ospreay briefly looked like he had the edge over the challenger, but didn’t last long as a DDT on top of the turnbuckle swung the pendulum the other way. This has Ospreay’s face turning full red from all the blood and Mox started working on his neck.

Adding insult to injury, stalling the piledriver to give a middle finger before hitting the move. Ospreay with some fight off his own, Phenomenal Forearm, standing sky twister etc. Mox took back control and started dishing more punishment.

Mox went for the stomp but Ospreay didn’t give in, afterwards a Styles Clash and springboard cutter got a nearfall. A ref bump had the rest of Death Riders and United Empire going at it. Marina Shafir getting involved had Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter coming to even the odds.

Mox hit Ospreay with a briefcase, Paradigm Shift and a Death Rider. Mox finally accepted his fate and was down on the mat after a hidden blade as Ospreay got his redemption from Dynasty. After the match, Mox gave him his respect and shook hands.

It was a great match and a great PPV, borrowing the words of previous AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, I must bid you adieu, Good Bye and Good Night.
