Whatever beef the crowd has with Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab is incredibly antagonistic because they’re doing what the sport demands they do in order for any of this to make sense.
Barcelona is hosting Clash in Italy for the first time, and they were booing the second they heard Cargill’s music hit. They won last Saturday, however, that didn’t stop Rhea Ripley from making her entrance. Ha! These girls looked like they were struggling to get their words out due to the audience simply being annoying to the ears.
It’s not like Ripley wasn’t speaking some facts about Cargill showing her losing streak when she’s left alone. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair heard their names being mentioned to some extent and joined in. Jade tried to embarrass Alexa, but she managed to hold her own as an impromptu match rang the bell.
Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill
After tossing Bliss out of the ring, Cargill continued to stare her down, so much so, that Alexa deliberately put some distance between them, to which Jade found funny. The former Champion caught Alexa mid-air and delivered a backbreaker. Right in the centre of the ring, Cargill arrogantly dropped and powerbombed Alexa.
Bliss has been enduring most of her challenger’s attacks, it was good for her when she got out of the way to force Jade’s knee to collide with the stairs. Cargill didn’t see that coming, along with Alexa’s relentless efforts. Double knee strike to back of Jade.
Because Alexa was on a roll, Michin got involved by tripping her up while the referee was busy with Cargill. Flair and Ripley witnessed this as a means to jump them at ringside. Meanwhile, Alexa performed a DDT, but she missed with Twisted Bliss, which awarded Cargill with a victory. Following the match, Jade gave Rhea another warning shot, but this time, Alexa was on the receiving end again.
Winner: Jade Cargill
Although Cody Rhodes said that he always assisted when someone needed help, that includes Sami Zayn, he believed that Zayn was the one who should apologize for leaving him at the mercy of Gunther’s strong chokehold. Sami pointed out a reminiscent thought that he fought the urge to help Rhodes because he wanted him to learn a lesson. In turn, Cody hopes to teach Sami.
Johnny Gargano was still in a funk, and Sami understood that, funnily so, Candice LeRae thought he was talking to her. I suspect she’s had enough, too. I’m so lost as to how Matt Cardona and Sami got into a verbal spat, but we’re getting a match later tonight. I think Cardona thought he’d win, somewhat belittling the union, but he lost when Sami smashed his face with a Helluva Kick.
It was Axiom’s Italian homecoming match as he faced The Miz. Being the first Spaniard to get signed with WWE, his athleticism was a wonder to watch as he stretched Miz from behind. The A-Lister mentioned the abruptness of this fight, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to outmatch his opponent. A dragon corkscrew thwarted the man, plus that torque kick. A Spanish Fly and Golden Ratio ended Miz. Wade Barrett blamed that strange light flicking…
Damian Priest & Royce Keys vs. Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga – Tag Team match
Priest has dealt with the MFTs for a while now, so when he found out that Keys might have some long past history with Solo Sikoa, obviously that pissed him off. R-Truth’s way of mending that is by having these two tag. Priest wasn’t used to being battered around, yet that changed once Tama came into the fray. Royce was waiting for Damian to tag him willingly, but he didn’t, so he tagged himself in.
Since Sikoa was looking to recruit Keys, that made him an unreliable sort, nevertheless, Damian still came in-between to protect his brief partner. At some point, Royce fell victim to Tama when he force led a trip. It took a little while, fortunately, Keys was able to apply some distance and tag Priest.
The Street King came close to pinning his opponent if it weren’t for Talla’s intervention. Even Sikoa got involved as he usually does. Luckily, Truth came to assist the best he could, yet he was laid out. Keys may have stopped Solo from delivering the Samoan Spike, regrettably, he paid no mind to Tama, who flattened him with his fists. Back inside the ring, Talla choke slammed Damian for a triumphant ending.
Winners: The MFTs
Trick Williams and Lil Yatchy came out tonight for the US Champion to announce his participatomg in the upcoming King & Queen of the Ring Tournament starting next Monday. Carmelo Hayes thought Williams was being cocky and arrogant, nevertheless, he vowed to take care of him after he puts Ricky Saints through the mat for implicating himself. And speaking of arrogant inclusions, ha! Ricky got slapped like a petulant man.
No matter how hilarious that was, Ricky got back on his feet to face Hayes. Saints had his knees up as he baited Melo to come crashing down on him as well as a near fall. Hayes made a comeback with a magnificent face plant that Joe Tessitore called “Dirty Diana”. From the barrier, Melo leaped with a clothesline. Annoyingly so, they both overstayed on the outside that the referee deemed it a double count out. Hayes tried to plea his case, so Saints’ swift jump didn’t affect him too much.
Blake Monroe is coming to SmackDown soon. Stay tuned! Jacy Jayne from Fatal Influence has declared her participation in the Queen of the Ring Tournament.
Nia Jax vs. Chelsea Green
As Chelsea was preparing to run, Nia grabbed hold of her hair and tossed her to the other side of the ring. She did the same a second time, which was even more funny. Green does manage to suicide five after sending Jax towards the commentary table. Chelsea was attempting a Roughrider, but Nia got the best of her with a powerbomb.
That zigzag caught Nia out of nowhere, and let’s not forget the shoulder collision to the post and the drop kick. I think Green tried at least four pins and failed all of them. Lash Legend getting in the middle resulted in Chelsea falling victim to a Samoan Drop. Just as Tiffany Stratton’s music started playing, Jax asked Lash to take care of her.
Much to her surprise, Stratton came from a different entrance to hit Nia in the face with her title while the official wasn’t looking. Tiffy thanked Chelsea earlier, but she never promised Green anything in return. Regardless, Chelsea saw an opportunity and pinned Nia… on her birthday. Oof.
Winner: Chelsea Green
Now, Gunther gave his word that he will remain civilized during his conversation with Cody Rhodes. This face-to-face was sanctioned to give these boys the chance to say exactly what they think about each other. The Ring General came to the conclusion that, despite still being new, the show always seemed to be about Rhodes. The amount of spotlight he receives is self-important.
Gunther drew the notion that the American Nightmare moniker is fitting because it displayed the crumbling American dream where nepotism, egotism and narcissism continues to fest. “I think that all of that makes you [Cody] a little, entitled brat.”
As a countermove, Rhodes called Gunther a liar for no admitting that he desires the poster coverage, talk show interviews, the crowd singing every lyric of his song — despite not having any lyrics — the social media attention. Paul Heyman didn’t warn Rhodes that the Championship is an addiction. There’s truth to what they both said, but will they realize that on their own time? Probably not.
