NWA Powerrr: Mason looks to ‘Thrill’ El Nihan Dragon

On this NWA Powerrr, “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason continues his Thril β€˜Em all tour with the Ten Pounds of Gold.

His latest stop is stepping into the squared circle to face a behemoth known as El Nihan DragΓ³n. Since coming to the NWA, the Puerto Rican monster has stomped his way up the ranks, and with the help of his recent tag partner, Thom Latimer, he now has a shot at the title. This is a big challenge for Big Daddy Thrill, and he ain’t backing down. But will he remain the heavyweight champion of the National Wrestling Alliance?

We’ll find out as we come to you from ThePowerrrStation in Tampa, FL. Joe Galli, Tim Storm, and Danny Dealz have the call. Joining Kyle Davis in the ring is the NWA Champion. He asked Mason on the State of the Southern Six, and I’ll let the Biggest Man That Ever lived talk from here:

“The Southern six were supposed to be like iron, like diamonds. Unable to be tarnished by time or entropy. But it seems that all things move toward their end, and my patience with Kerry Morton is about up. He thinks he was looking out for my best interest by trying to screw me out of the Ten Pounds of Gold. How’s that?

The only question that I have left to ask, and the only thing that I want answered, is: Tampa, who wants to see me whoop Kerry Morton’s ass?

Well, then tonight at the main event of Powerrr, the Thrillbilly is gonna become just like Saint George, and I’m gonna slay the dragon! And Kerry Morton, I’m gonna put a size sixteen straight up your pampered little backside.”

No mincing words here, and Morton’s days look to be numbered.

On The Carson Drake Experience, his “guests” are The SlimeBallz, and things go downhill from there. Drake accuses them of trying to throw him under the bus, and he wants it clear that they are banned from his podcast.

So my question is: How is this a punishment?

Kerry Morton vs. Vin Parker

Parker is a wrestler who was once trained under “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes at his Rhodes Wrestling Academy. He has a chiseled look and goes by the nickname “Flawless.” Let’s see if that will carry over in his debut match in the NWA.

There’s some nice chain wrestling, but it’s The Rizz God who’s in control. Parker has a few moves and shows him up, in almost Flawless fashion.

At one point, Morton yanks his arm on the top rope to wrench it, and he targets the bad wing throughout the match. A slingshot suplex on Parker gets a two count. Parker stages a comeback and goes for a suplex to a falcon arrow to cover, but only gets a count of two.

Parker senses victory, but a flash Kiss It Goodbye ensures Morton wins this night.

Brandon McCord goes over his Collection that success will come, but it will take time. He believes more gold is in the future, like with Alex Misery getting the Television title. In order for them to achieve that next stage they need to believe in each other.

If I had to describe this moment, it feels like Ted Lasso and Tim Burton colluded on a wrestling stable.

NWA Women’s World Championship: Tiffany Nieves( with Ms. Starr and Gretta)(c) vs. Gina Sais Quoi

Sais Quoi is billed as The Voodoo Queen, and I can’t help but wonder if this is what would happen if Papa Shango had a child.

In any case, Sais Quoi tries to get into La Princesa’s head, and she ends up getting a slap for her troubles.

Nieves shows why she’s the crown jewel of TV-MA and the holder of the Burke. Sais Quoi gets back on offense until a sidewalk slam by the champ stops the momentum.

After that, Nieves gets her into the Royal Seat for Sais Quoi to submit.

No doubt about it, La Pricesa is gonna hold The Burke for a long time. Get it. Got it? Bueno.

Aron Stevens gives a pep talk to Slade when Wrecking Ball Legursky barges in and causes Stevens’ coat brush to break. Leave it be said he is displeased and certainly doesn’t want to hear anything America’s Superheavyweight has to say.

Slade Submission Challenge: Terry Yaki vs. Jay Lucas vs. Hayden Backlund

Lucas and Yaki are from the Kross Fire Wrestling territory and have worked together as the tag team, Top Team. However, they’re both coming in to face each other, as well as a pissed-off Backlund, who starts getting in both their grills.

Yaki and Lucas send him out, and they start off the match, with each man trying to outdo the other. They go move for move until Backlund comes back in and suplexes Yaki around. Lucas nails a crossbody, and then it’s high-flying from that point on.

An eye poke and a cutter later, Backlund gets a two count. He attempts the crossface chicken wing when Yaki drop kicks him out of the ring and flies to the outside.

He delivers a Michinoku variation on Backlund for the pin and the win.

Davis gets in the ring to get his thoughts on being the number one contender, and Yaki feels great and is confident he’s the future of this business.

NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship: Slade(with Aron Stevens)(c) vs. Terry Yaki

As Slade gets the straps on, Yaki goes for the quick pins that frustrate the champ more than anything. He goes for a high-risk move, but Slade counters with a nasty dragon suplex.

He stalks his opponent and picks his spots, injuring Yaki. He tries to stage a comeback, but he gets steamrolled, and a Slade Slam is added. The straps are down, and the Slade Lock makes him tap out.

Your Winner via Submission: Slade

Davis congratulates Slade on his title defense and talks to Stevens, but Wrecking Ball Legursky comes out. He notes that no one loves him, but the people love him. He thinks the Federation of Champions (and The Slimeballs) needs some “USA,” but Stevens says no.

Pfft. Commie.

At the Training Seminar, Joe Cazana and The Country Gentlemen and Carson Drake air their grievances, especially at Billy Corgan…until the boss comes in and he quickly changes his tune.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship: “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason vs. El Nihan DragΓ³n

The bell rings, and this match might as well be Godzilla vs. King Kong. After a Test of strength, Dragon almost gets him pinned, but Mason fires up, and he comes down hard with a back suplex.

They run the ropes, and Mason lands with the dropkick. DragΓ³n grabs him, and there is an uncharacteristic headscissors takedown by the Biggest Man that Ever Lived. Mason locks in a sleeper on the monster, but can’t put him away. Scoop and a slam on Big Daddy Thrill, and he attempts a headbutt, but it doesn’t faze the Puerto Rican monster. They’re showing signs of wear and tear, and DragΓ³n gives him a Superkick followed by a powerbomb to cover for one, two…ohhh,so close.

DragΓ³n attempts to follow up, but Mason delivers a ThrillRide on the 300-pound monster and remains on top in one, two, and three.

With that emphatic win, Mason is now ready to focus his attention on Morton as the show comes to a close.
