The final episode of AEW Dynamite before AEW Double or Nothing delivered complete chaos from start to finish, with multiple wild brawls, a brutal Anything Goes Match, a major injury announcement, and another successful world title defence for Darby Allin.
The night also featured escalating tension between Allin and MJF ahead of their AEW World Championship showdown, while Jon Moxley survived a hard-fought eliminator match against Kyle O’Reilly that ended in dramatic fashion.
The Don Callis Family & Ricochet def. Jericho & The Young Bucks
The show opened with a backstage video featuring Jericho and The Young Bucks discussing strategy for their six-man tag team match later in the evening. Jericho even apologised to Matt and Nick Jackson for past issues as the trio attempted to move forward together.
That uneasy alliance was immediately tested once the action began against The Don Callis Family and Ricochet.
Jericho started aggressively against Andrade El Idolo, chopping him repeatedly both inside and outside the ring. The Young Bucks quickly found their rhythm as the match descended into fast-paced chaos featuring constant tags, triple-team offence and stereo superkicks.
Matt and Nick Jackson nearly secured victory after connecting with a BTE Trigger on Andrade, but Ricochet repeatedly broke up near falls to keep his team alive. Jericho then took Ricochet out with a huge back suplex through tables in the timekeeper’s area, seemingly clearing the path for victory.
However, outside interference once again changed everything.
David Finlay and Clark Connors appeared while the referee was distracted. Connors yanked Nick Jackson off the apron before Finlay drilled Matt Jackson with a kick to the head, allowing Andrade to fall on top for the victory.
Winners: The Don Callis Family and Ricochet
After the bell, the chaos only intensified. Toa Liona attacked Matt Jackson in the corner before Jack Perry stormed out carrying a bag of onions and used it as a weapon. The Hurt Syndicate soon joined the fight as wrestlers brawled through the crowd and ringside area.
Anything Goes Match: Mark Briscoe vs. Tommaso Ciampa
The violence continued immediately as Tommaso Ciampa headed to the ring for an Anything Goes Match against Mark Briscoe.
Briscoe arrived carrying a garbage can full of weapons and wasted no time unleashing chaos. Rat traps, chains, tables, ladders, thumbtacks, barbed wire and even a staple gun all came into play during one of the most violent matches AEW has aired this year.
Early in the match, Briscoe smashed a mop across Ciampa’s back and drove him through a table on the floor with a blockbuster from the apron. Ciampa later regained control by using a chain to yank Briscoe off the top rope and through a table.
The brutality escalated further after the commercial break. Ciampa drove barbed wire into Briscoe’s head and stapled papers from the commentary desk directly onto him. Briscoe responded with a fire extinguisher blast, a screwdriver attack and a series of huge strikes.
The closing moments became especially gruesome. Briscoe positioned two chairs back-to-back before sending Ciampa crashing onto them from the top rope. Moments later, Briscoe delivered a J-Driller on the apron that sent Ciampa through a barbed wire-covered table before finishing him with a Froggy Bow.
Winner: Mark Briscoe
Prince Nana interrupted Tony Schiavone’s attempted introduction for Swerve Strickland and hilariously dismissed Schiavone from the ring before delivering his own grand introduction.
The celebration did not last long.
Bandido attacked Strickland on the entrance ramp, sparking another intense fight. The two men brawled around ringside before Bandido launched himself over the ropes onto Strickland.
Nana attempted to get involved with a chair, but Bandido cut him off. Strickland eventually regained control with a cheap shot from behind before the fight spilled into the ring. Bandido eventually overpowered Strickland and sent him crashing to the mat with a Gorilla Press Slam.
Strickland escaped before Bandido could use the chair on him, continuing the growing hostility between the two men heading toward Double or Nothing.
A major development then unfolded backstage involving Willow Nightingale.
Nightingale revealed she suffered a shoulder injury during her recent match against Red Velvet on Collision. Because of the injury, she announced she was withdrawing from the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament and relinquishing the TBS Championship.
The emotional announcement immediately reshaped the women’s division heading into Double or Nothing weekend.
AEW Continental Title Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly
Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly then collided in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match.
The match quickly became a gritty, physical battle centred around submissions and heavy striking. Moxley repeatedly targeted O’Reilly’s ribs and head with brutal elbows, chops and forearms, while O’Reilly focused on damaging Moxley’s limbs with submissions.
As the clock ticked down, the intensity dramatically increased. Moxley delivered a superplex from the top rope before O’Reilly nearly forced him to tap with a series of ankle locks and armbreakers.
The final moments saw O’Reilly cinch in another ankle lock as the time limit expired before Moxley could submit.
Result: Time-limit draw
Because O’Reilly survived the full time limit, he officially earned a future AEW Continental Championship opportunity. However, O’Reilly immediately requested that the eventual title match be without a time limit.
Triangle of Madness & Athena vs. Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa & The Brawling Birds
The women’s division remained in focus as Athena joined Triangle of Madness to battle Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa and The Brawling Birds.
The match featured constant momentum swings and rapid tag-team action among all eight competitors. Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor briefly dominated the action, while Shirakawa landed a huge DDT on Athena during a fast-paced stretch after the break.
The finish came after distraction and underhanded tactics.
Thekla attempted to use the AEW Women’s World Championship belt, but the referee intercepted her. While the official was distracted, Thekla sprayed her signature mist into Thunder Rosa’s face before pinning her.
Winners: Triangle of Madness and Athena
AEW World Title Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Mike Bailey
The main event saw Darby Allin defend the AEW World Championship against Mike Bailey, while challenger MJF joined commentary.
Bailey controlled much of the early action with devastating kicks and aerial attacks, including a brutal sequence outside the ring that left Allin struggling to recover. Allin eventually fought back with a Scorpion Death Drop onto the barricade before the match returned to the ring.
Back inside the ropes, Bailey unleashed more strikes and nearly won several times. Allin connected with a Coffin Drop, but MJF interfered from ringside by placing Bailey’s foot on the rope to stop the referee’s count.
Kevin Knight then confronted MJF at ringside as the match intensified. Bailey landed a spinning heel kick and multiple near falls, but Allin narrowly escaped every time.
Eventually, a battered Allin trapped Bailey in a Scorpion Death Lock after another Scorpion Death Drop. Despite encouragement from Knight at ringside, Bailey was forced to tap out.
Winner: Darby Allin
After the match, Knight reminded Allin that everyone was counting on him to defeat MJF and shave his head bald. Once Knight and Bailey left ringside, MJF attacked Allin from behind with hair clippers he retrieved from under the ring.
However, Allin turned the tables and briefly held the clippers against MJF himself before MJF escaped up the ramp, ending Dynamite with one final tense confrontation before Double or Nothing.
