Prior to this evening, Gunther said that he will only agree to a rematch that he initiated under one condition… which he will announce later tonight. Ha!
Charlotte Flair vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Sol Ruca vs. Jade Cargill – Fatal 4-Way Queen of the Ring Tournament match
In the early goings, Michin and B-Fab involved themselves by yanking Charlotte, luckily, she had Alexa Bliss and… Tiffany Stratton — question mark? — helping her from the outside. These girls used the “no disqualification” rule the same way famished individuals leave no leftovers during thanksgiving.
Cargill flipped Valkyria from the corner, then kicked her against the spine before reapplying her focus towards Flair. Jade had most of the upper hand, however, at some point, Sol gained momentum once recovered, but she got her spine blasted when she made contact with the mat.
As a newcomer on the blue brand, Ruca has demonstrated her incredible athleticism with that springboard leap to take down Lyra and Charlotte. I thought she temporarily tripped, then reversed. Oh, well… Jade came out of nowhere and delivered a massive pump kick to Sol’s face.
Cargill had planted Flair with Jaded, but Lyra intercepted just in time with a drop kick. Once again, Ruca impressed with Sol Snatcher to Jade that could have granted her the win if Valkyria hadn’t dragged her by the foot. Lyra took the opening with a Peripeteia to Cargill, unfortunately, it was Charlotte’s Figure 8 that awarded her the victory.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid wanted their first official match against the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Paige and Brie Bella, to go in their favour. Since returning, Brie and Paige have been working fairly well together, not terribly, but I’m still waiting for more in tandem.
While Brie was handling Lainey with the Yes Kicks, Paige was inflicting pain of her own towards Fallon on the apron. Paige knocked Lainey out with Rampage, Fallon knew that, so she interrupted again. Jacy Jayne got caught helping Fallon out of the PTO and was sent away. Meanwhile, Brie saw that Paige was in a bad spot, so she swooped in, forced the weight of her partner to shift on top and reign supreme.
As we move on with the evening, Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes were in the ring sharing words. Zayn reminded Rhodes that he was the first person to come to the rescue before John Cena, Jey Uso, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Kevin Owens during the Bloodline Rules Championship match. He placed a spotlight on a question as to how many of the guys he’s mentioned are still friends with him? He pondered if the problem wasn’t the others, but Cody.
Rhodes countered by abiding to Sami’s request about being honest, so he noted that the crowd has been chanting “Sami sucks!” and he agreed with that statement. That he’s been complaining and crying lately. The Zayn we knew was no longer present. Cody went even deeper by implying that by him having the title, Zayn never will in the future. A slap to the face from Sami was an accurate response to being told, no, yelled at that he will never be World Champion.
I saw the YouTube Shorts. Fans believe Sami messed up. Cody slapped him in turn and asked if they’re even now… A chair nearly made contact with Rhodes’ skull, but Sami restrained himself.
Rey Fenix (c) vs. Axiom – AAA Cruiserweight Championship match
During a fast start, Fenix already laid Axiom on the floor with that suicide dive. Axiom barely avoided a body splash and momentarily morphed it into a choke hold, which Rey got out of. Fenix held onto that rope during a standing switch, so Axiom took initiative with a German suplex. A high angle landing for the champ.
Just as Axiom was going for a high kick, Rey moved out of the way and his opponent got caught up in the turnbuckles. The lower right leg was clearly in pain. However, that didn’t stop Axiom from performing an amazing Spanish Fly. Another spinning animal kick to Axiom left the poor guy dizzy. Rey retained with a Mexican Muscle Buster.
Winner: Rey Fenix
Well, losing never leaves a positive impression on a person, and Trick Williams is said person in this case. Last week, he lost in the King of the Ring Tournament, but he switched the attention to him remaining US Champion. Ricky Saints’ music started playing, yet it wasn’t even half way until Carmelo Hayes decided, no one has time for that. Some soul-sucking back and forth between two fat egos as to who Williams should pick because he’s incapable of making his mind.
The funny thing was when I believe I heard Hayes say: “How about you split your hairline properly?” Ha! You should expect that kind of trash talk from a Black person, but the question is when? After that, I took a glance at Ricky’s hair and laughed even harder. Saints and Hayes remind me of Carmelo’s battles with Andrade that I can’t remember who got the best of whom.
I called it! I called it! Giulia FINALLY dropped Kiana James due to last week’s betrayals, according to Kiana. Giulia reckoned that Kiana used her name to get ahead, and once she noticed and her English got better, she slapped James out of orbit. You can even hear the clacking of her heels.
Gunther made his decision and thought that Sami should referee his title match with Cody next week to ensure that nothing untoward happens a second time. Rhodes was ready for this fight, now he seemed reluctant. The champ played right into Sami’s hands when he basically called him an emotional turbulence. Nevertheless, Zayn mysteriously wished Cody luck.
The only important bit of the match where Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green teamed up to take on B-Fab and Michin was when Jade pulled Stratton off the apron just as Green was looking for a tag. After the fight, Tiffy unloaded her anger in an unbalanced takedown where she was planted.
Jey Uso vs. LA Knight vs. Finn Balor vs. Royce Keys – Fatal 4-Way King of the Ring Tournament match
The strenuous relationship between Knight and Jey has been mounting for a couple of weeks now. Some of it has spilled to SmackDown when Knight mocked Jey’s running of his music back for the audience as he normally does. Because of that, Jey grabbed Knight and proceeded to punch him. That encouraged Keys and Balor to engage as well.
While Jey and Knight were brawling in their corner, Royce was just about finished clobbering Finn, so he rammed the other two. Silence fell in the ring for a few seconds. Royce sent Jey and LA out onto the floor. Meanwhile, Balor did his best to chop the big man down by targeting his legs.
Jey was isolated, left with Finn. At some point, he managed to corned Balor and repeatedly punch him on the temple. A few moments later, Knight gave it a go towards Uso. Keys swooped in and tossed Knight to the floor. Finn and Jey smartly threw Royce over as well.
Keys wasted Jey with a spinebuster and hoped for a win until Knight arrived to preserve his chances of winning. He was barely capable of keeping Keys down since that clothesline whiplashed the wind out of him. If it wasn’t for Finn, Royce probably would have won. Keys was on a roll with that Top Choice power slam. Jey was neutralized on the outside. Big Jim was staring Keys down, but I didn’t expect to see Solo Sikoa.
The mission was to make sure that Jey has his night. The Bloodline continues to roam around in the shadows. Sikoa was here in pursuit of recruiting Royce, not to encourage his older brother. There’s been some interesting exchanges between Balor and Keys that I would want to see in a future match with only these two.
Uso may be getting his ass beaten, as I can definitely see, but he’s the master of self-preservation and people don’t seem to be paying attention to that. That’s one of his many talents. Balor was just as talented when he came face-to-face with Royce numerous times during this battle. While Keys had Finn on his shoulder, Jey Super Kicked him, and Knight delivered a knee strike for good measure.
To take out the biggest threat, Knight, Jey and Finn temporarily unified to perform an extreme powerbomb on the commentary desk, with Uso carrying most of Royce’s weight on his shoulders. Absolutely spectacular!
Finn delivered two Sling Blades to Jey before he collapsed to the mat, even more so, he shoved Knight onto Jey, too. Back from the abyss, Royce yanked Balor from the cover to wipe him and Jimmy out. While Sikoa was hyping up Keys, LA surprised the pair of them from behind. It seemed like the end could be possible for Knight or Keys, with Solo’s involvement, it shifted in the direction of Jey with an Uso Splash on top of Royce and LA.
Winner: Jey Uso
