Several major figures connected to WWE and TKO Group Holdings, including Vince McMahon and Triple H, are reportedly expected to testify when the WWE shareholder lawsuit heads to trial on June 8 in Delaware.
According to Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling, Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Ari Emanuel, and Mark Shapiro are among the names listed as witnesses for the upcoming case.
The lawsuit was filed by WWE shareholders who claim the process that led to WWE’s merger with UFC to create TKO was structured to allow McMahon to maintain control of the company. The shareholders argue that the process prevented WWE from receiving the maximum possible sale value.
McMahon remained involved with WWE leadership until January 2024 before resigning following the filing of the lawsuit brought by Janel Grant.
Additional witnesses reportedly include former WWE executives and board members George Barrios, Michelle Wilson, and Frank Riddick; former WWE board member Steve Koonin; banker Jeff Sine; TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer; and TKO chief strategy officer Mark Zhu.
Vince McMahon Expected To Testify Live, While Other Witnesses Will Appear Via Video
The report also stated that some witnesses are expected to testify live, while others could appear through video testimony or previously recorded depositions. Former WWE board members Stephanie McMahon, Jeffrey Speed and Steve Pamon are reportedly expected to appear in that manner.
Liberty Media CEO Marty Patterson is also included on the witness list after Liberty Media was previously involved in bidding for WWE during the company’s sale process.
Despite the trial date approaching, the possibility reportedly still remains that the lawsuit could be settled before proceedings begin or even after the trial starts.
