The future of one recently released WWE star may not be as clear-cut as previously believed, with conflicting reports emerging about a possible move back to AEW.
According to a new report from SEScoops, the former Aleisteir Black is currently in talks with AEW regarding a potential return to the company. The report stated that negotiations are ongoing, although no agreement has reportedly been finalised.
The update comes despite Fightful Select reporting that AEW is publicly denying that any discussions are taking place. Black is also reportedly still under contract with WWE for more than two months before he would officially become available to sign elsewhere.
The situation has created conflicting narratives surrounding Black’s status following his WWE departure. Earlier reporting from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp indicated that the relationship between Black and AEW was not considered beyond repair, despite speculation suggesting otherwise.
That contradicted previous comments from Dave Meltzer, who reported that AEW sources had been negative about the idea of Black returning. Shawn Dean also publicly dismissed speculation about a House of Black reunion earlier this year.
When Was Aleisteir Black Released By WWE?
Aleisteir Black was released by WWE on April 24 alongside his wife, Zelina Vega, during the company’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts. During his previous AEW run, Black became one of the company’s top acts after forming the House of Black faction with Buddy Matthews and Brody King following his debut feud with Cody Rhodes.
