TMZ is reporting that former AEW superstar “The Butcher” (Andy Williams) died last night after collapsing after a match at a wrestling event.
He was 49-years-old.
At the Enjoy Wrestling event The Butcher and his partner The Blade were taking on TME for the Enjoy Tag Team Championships.
After the match was over, The Butcher slumped to the floor. The Blade and others assisted him to the back.
Williams was rushed to hospital and the rest of the event was called off.
Enjoy released this statement at the time: “Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening. Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived. We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information.”

Williams trained to be a pro-wrestler at the Renegade Wrestling Association in Ontario but during an injury learned to play bass and became a musician. He eventually became a wrestler full-time working for Smash Wrestling and Joey Janela’s Spring Break with Penelope Ford against Braxton Sutter and his wife Allie. They would later join forces as The Butcher and The Blade.
They would join AEW in 2019 working for MJF. The worked for AEW until 2026 feuding with Jurassic Express, The Acclaimed, the Lucha Brothers and others. At the House Always Wins, a non-televised AEW event, the Butcher won a battle royal to become the #1 contender for the AEW TNT Championship. He faced champion Darby Allin in the main event but was defeated.
