Former WWE Tag Team Champions the Motor City Machine Guns have teased their next destination following their recent departures from WWE.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were among the WWE roster cuts announced in April. The veteran tag team has now added to speculation surrounding its future by posting a tongue-in-cheek video on their YouTube channel.
In the video, titled “Release”, Shelley guides Sabin through the “five stages of grief”, although the pair never explicitly state what Sabin is grieving. The segment ends with the duo opening a package containing what are presented as contract offers from several wrestling promotions.
After sorting through envelopes labelled with promotions including FMW, CyberFight, WAR and IWA Mid-South, Sabin discovers one final envelope at the bottom of the pile that leaves him visibly excited. However, the promotion behind the offer is never revealed, with Shelley declaring that Sabin has finally reached the “acceptance” stage.
The video has fuelled further speculation over the former WWE Tag Team Champions’ future.
Motor City Machine Guns’ Brief Run With WWE
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin signed with WWE in 2024 and captured the WWE Tag Team Championship less than a month after debuting on SmackDown, defeating DIY for the titles on the October 25 episode.
According to a previous report from Fightful Select, the Motor City Machine Guns are expected to sign with AEW eventually, although no official announcement has been made regarding their next move.
