WWE could be set for further roster changes following last weekend’s releases.
According to Bryan Alvarez, additional departures may already have taken place but have yet to be publicly confirmed. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez noted that some names announced over the weekend had actually been released by WWE earlier, suggesting more cuts could still emerge.
“Ever since Friday’s show, we had more people released… there may be more coming. In fact, a few of the people that were announced this weekend had actually been released a while ago, and it just wasn’t announced until this weekend, so I believe there might be others as well.” Alvarez said, adding that the situation remains fluid.
Alvarez also pointed to several SmackDown talents as potential concerns, particularly following recent storyline developments that appeared to write off members of the MFT faction. The angle saw Jacob Fatu take out multiple members, with commentary implying the group had been effectively dismantled.
Which WWE Names Could Be The Next To Be Released?
The WWE status of Tama Tonga remains unclear. Alvarez noted he had initially been told Tonga had been released, though his name did not appear on the official list, leaving uncertainty around his situation.
Meanwhile, Shinsuke Nakamura was also mentioned, having been absent from television for months despite remaining under contract.
The most recent confirmed departures included Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, whose exit was described as mutual, along with Tonga Loa and JC Mateo. These moves follow an earlier wave of releases as part of the company’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster reset.
