MJF continued his reign as AEW World Champion with a hard-fought victory over Kenny Omega in the main event of AEW Dynasty.
The match built to a dramatic closing stretch, with MJF resorting to underhanded tactics to maintain his hold on the title. He pulled referee Bryce Remsburg into a V-Trigger before delivering a low blow to Omega, later retrieving his Dynamite Diamond ring after it had been confiscated.
Omega responded with a V-Trigger and followed with a One-Winged Angel, but MJF kicked out after a second referee entered the ring, keeping the match alive in a rare moment.
The action spilled to the apron, where Omega teased a One Winged Angel through a table at ringside. MJF countered by striking him with the ring before hitting a jumping tombstone through the table. He then rolled Omega back onto the apron and delivered the Heat Seeker to secure the pinfall.
The victory extends MJF’s second AEW World Title run, which began at Worlds End in December 2025, and adds another successful defence to his record.
Omega had earned the opportunity after defeating Swerve Strickland, marking his first shot at the AEW World Title since 2023. The loss means his wait for a second world championship reign continues.
MJF Set To Face Darby Allin As A Future Title Challenger
Following the match, attention has already turned to MJF’s next challenger, with Darby Allin emerging as the likely opponent after picking up a win earlier in the night in a match against Andrade El Idolo, where the stipulation was that if Allin won, he would receive a future AEW World Title shot.
