MJF has addressed his victory over Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty.
Momentum seemed to be with Kenny Omega as he headed into Dynasty to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship. After returning from a career-threatening illness in January 2025, the Best Bout Machine spent over a year climbing back to the top of AEW. It appeared that Dynasty would be his crowning moment, but Friedman had other ideas.
In a match that’s been called an instant classic, Omega was able to hit the One-Winged Angel twice, but both times, MJF was able to avoid the pinfall. First, due to Omega being too beat up to cover him, and second, when there was no referee to count the fall for The Cleaner.
The Salt of the Earth finally got the victory when he punched Omega in the stomach with his Dynamite Diamond Ring and followed it up by hitting the Tombstone through a table on the outside. Back in the ring, MJF finished Omega with a Heatseeker to retain the gold.
In an AEW digital exclusive just after his win, MJF told Renee Paquette he had proven that nobody was on his level.
“I’m just gonna cut you off right now. Okay toots? I am going dark on socials, on my phone. Nobody call me. I’m gonna go home to my wife and make sweet love to her because your boy just proved ain’t nobody on the level of the devil. Good day, Renee. You suck Omega, you f**king bum!”
“Your boy just proved that there ain’t nobody on the level of The Devil.”
