Ludwig Kaiser is reportedly not facing backstage heat despite a recent arrest that sparked significant discussion online.
Ludwig Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel, was recently arrested in Orange County, Florida, on a misdemeanour battery charge stemming from an alleged incident in Orlando back in April. Reports surrounding the arrest claimed Kaiser allegedly assaulted a man following a confrontation involving a woman.
The arrest immediately sparked speculation about Kaiser’s standing within WWE, particularly given his recent push tied to the El Grande Americano storyline in AAA.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, however, Kaiser currently has no backstage heat within WWE over the situation. The report added that sources within the company believe the matter will eventually be dismissed based on information they have received.
Reports That Ludwig Kaiser Defended Andrea Bazarte From ICE Comments Were Reportedly Planted By WWE
Fightful also reported that a recent story portraying Ludwig Kaiser as defending himself and Andrea Bazarte from ICE-related comments was allegedly planted internally within WWE. According to the report, multiple wrestling media members were contacted about the story by an unfamiliar number rather than directly by Kaiser, Bazarte or WWE’s official public relations team.
The report noted that some within wrestling were sceptical of the “defence” narrative surrounding the incident and felt Kaiser should have simply removed himself from the situation entirely.
Despite the arrest, Kaiser is still reportedly expected to compete against OG El Grande Americano in a mask-versus-mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes. Fightful added that Kaiser should not encounter travel-related issues following the clearance he reportedly received from the judge overseeing the case.
