Jade Cargill says her first WWE Women’s Championship reign was a learning experience, stating she expects a very different outcome next time following her loss at WrestleMania 42.
Speaking in an interview with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Jade Cargill reflected on her title run and her defeat to Rhea Ripley, crediting her opponent while also emphasising her own performance in the match.
“She can’t go out there and have that stellar match if I don’t put on a show as well,” Cargill said. “It takes two to tango… a title doesn’t make me, I make the title.”
Cargill acknowledged that while she was satisfied with aspects of her run, there were elements she would change, particularly in terms of in-ring opportunities.
“I wanted to wrestle more. I wanted more competitive matches. I wanted more grit,” she said. “I’m gonna call it a practice run… next time is gonna be totally different.”
She added that her confidence in high-profile situations has remained consistent throughout her career, referencing her early experience working alongside major names.
“I could go out there, trip, fall, whatever… I’m still gonna be me. I’m still a star.”
Rhea Ripley Ended Jade Cargill’s 169 Day WWE Women’s Title Reign At WrestleMania 42
Jade Cargill originally won the WWE Women’s Championship in November 2025 and held the title for close to 170 days before dropping it to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42. The loss ends her first reign, with Cargill indicating she intends to use the experience as a foundation heading into her next opportunity in the title picture.
