A WWE Hall of Famer has said that Chad Gable should be ready to leave the wrestling promotion despite receiving massive praise for his and Ludwig Kaiser‘s recent Mask vs. Mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes.
Jeff Jarrett believes Chad Gable should be prepared to explore opportunities outside WWE despite the acclaim he has received for his recent work. Speaking on his My World podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer discussed Gable’s standout performance at AAA Noche de los Grandes, where he lost a Mask vs. Mask Match to El Grande Americano and was forced to unmask. The bout earned widespread praise from fans and fellow wrestlers, with JBL recently going as far as to call Gable the best wrestler in the world.
Despite that momentum, Jarrett questioned whether WWE would significantly change Gable’s position on the roster.
“I just don’t see the WWE pushing him,” Jarrett said. “Because he worked under the Vince regime. And obviously now he’s worked under Triple H’s regime, but they’re not all of a sudden magically going to go, ‘Oh yeah, he’s our guy.'”
Jarrett argued that Gable’s current contract situation could provide leverage as he considers his future. Reports have indicated that the former Olympian has approximately one year remaining on his WWE deal. According to Jarrett, Gable should continue doing what has made him successful while keeping his options open.
“I would absolutely leverage that contract situation,” Jarrett said, pointing to changes within New Japan Pro-Wrestling as one possible avenue worth considering.
Jeff Jarrett Believes Chad Gable Is Worth More Outside Of WWE
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion believes Chad Gable’s talent could be worth more on the open market than it currently is within WWE.
“I just think he needs to keep doing what he’s doing, but be ready to leave,” Jarrett said. “I don’t see TKO coming to him and saying, ‘Hey man, you performed great in Monterrey, we’re going to give you a bump.’ I just don’t see that. I think he could monetise his talent more.”
Gable has become one of WWE’s most consistently praised in-ring performers in recent years, but Jarrett remains unconvinced that his recent success outside the company will translate into a major push on WWE television.
