Asuka remains part of WWE’s plans, with a new report claiming the company is ready to bring her back whenever she decides she wants to return.
The former WWE Women’s Champion has been absent from television since May, creating uncertainty about her future. However, WWE has reportedly not closed the door on another run. During a Fightful Select Q&A, JoeyVotes and TC of WrestleVotes provided an update on Asuka’s status, stating that WWE remains interested in using her again.
“I know they want her back. I know this is not a closed-door type of situation. When she’s ready, they’re ready to get her back.”
TC suggested WWE may not receive significant advance notice before the four-time WWE Women’s Champion returns, with the former champion now back in the United States.
“She’s one of those that can pop up on a moment’s notice,” he said.
According to the report, Asuka is also working part-time, which may explain the uncertainty around when she will next appear for WWE. Asuka last competed against Iyo Sky at Backlash in May. There was no injury angle following the match, and reports at the time indicated she was taking time away for personal reasons rather than dealing with an injury.
Asuka Could Make Surprise WWE Return
Asuka subsequently addressed her future in a video, reflecting on her WWE career while confirming that she remained under contract with the company.
“Nothing lasts forever. Everything is finite,” she said.
Her comments prompted speculation about how much longer she intended to continue wrestling, although she also suggested that fans had not necessarily seen the last of her.
“There’s a chance I might just pop up… when you least expect it.”
The latest report indicates that WWE remains open to exactly that scenario, with the company reportedly prepared to welcome Asuka back whenever she decides she is ready. There is currently no confirmed date for her return, and WWE has not announced any plans for her next appearance. For now, the timing appears to be largely in Asuka’s hands, with WWE reportedly ready to resume using the former Women’s Champion when she gives the word.
