MJF has followed Mistico all the way to MLW.
At Summer of the Beasts 2025, Mistico came down to the ring with a microphone in hand to give fans an update.
As he stepped into the ring and addressed the crowd the Contra theme blared. A Sentai Death Squad rushed the ring to attack him. Mistico fended them off…except for one wearing a mask under his Death Squad mask. He kicked Mistico in the groin and removed the Sentai Death Squad mask and then the Mistco mask he was wearing underneath.
He revealed himself to be MJF. MJF leaped on a fallen Mistico laying in haymaker after haymaker.
The crowd chanted…”Holy s–t! Holy s–t!”.
“Mistico, while you are laying down there and holding your little cucarachas listen to me real quick. I ain’t through with you boy, not by a long shot. We are going to wrestle again and when we do I am going to beat you within an inch of your life and that’s after I am done making a mockery of your country, your countrymen and your company CMLL! Because my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman and I am better than you and you know it,” said MJF before leaving a stunned crowd behind.
MJF and Mistico last did battle at AEW’s Grand Slam Mexico where he kicked Mistico in the groin, was disqualified, ripped off his mask, put it on and kicked him in the groin yet again.
MJF hasn’t appeared in MLW since 2020. During his last match there before jumping to AEW he was defeated by Marshall von Erich.
