WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has claimed that his relationship with AEW has made it difficult for him to attend WWE events and watch his daughter, Charlotte Flair, compete in person.
Ric Flair discussed his daughter’s wrestling career during an October 15 appearance on NewsNation’s BIFF, revealing that he still follows all her matches despite rarely being able to attend.
“I don’t miss a match.”
However, when asked about attending WWE events in person, Flair suggested that his association with AEW has created complications.
“Well, I can’t go to a lot of them now ’cause I work with AEW, and they don’t like to bring me into the building.”
The 16-time world champion quickly clarified that he doesn’t believe the situation stems from any personal disagreements with WWE personnel.
“Not because I don’t get along with the guys. It’s just that, you know, the competition.”
WWE has not publicly commented on Flair’s claims.
Ric Flair Previously Made Similar Claims About WWE And AEW
This is not the first time Ric Flair has suggested that his relationship with AEW has affected his ability to attend WWE events. Ahead of WrestleMania 41 in April 2025, Flair made similar comments, claiming that his ties to AEW President Tony Khan prevented him from attending WWE’s biggest annual event.
However, the Wrestling Observer reported at the time that Flair’s AEW agreement was not considered restrictive, despite his suggestion that it limited his ability to attend WWE shows. Flair’s latest comments indicate that he believes the competitive relationship between the two promotions continues to affect his attendance at WWE events.
Although he maintains that he watches every Charlotte Flair match, the WWE legend says his association with AEW has made supporting his daughter from ringside more complicated. Neither WWE nor AEW has publicly confirmed that Flair is prohibited from attending WWE events because of his relationship with the rival promotion.
