Queen of the Ring isn’t setting the box office on fire.

The Mildred Burke biopic finished 15th overall this weekend bringing in only $380,000 in its limited opening in 825 theatres. That’s an average of $460 per theatre, which is considered to be a lower-than-expected performance.

From its opening on Friday the film dropped by 3.6% on Saturday and 22% on Sunday.

As of now, the production budget for the film has not been publicly disclosed.

Although the film featured many real-life wrestlers its only box office draw, star power was Emily Bett Rickards who is really only known for her role of Felicity Smoak on the superhero shows Arrow and The Flash on the WB and Tyler Posey from the TV show Teen Wolf.

Queen was topped by box office hold-outs the rom-com slasher film Heart Eyes, Mufasa: The Lion King, The Monkey, Paddington in Peru and others.

The new film from Parasite director Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17, finished in first place and Captain America: Brave New World continued its run in second place this weekend.

The film also generated some controversy backstage at AEW’s Revolution last night. Damaris Lewis who stars as Babs Wingo in the film appeared alongside director Ash Avildsen and co-star Kelli Berglund as the crew took down the steel cage from the Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher match. When asked by Tony Schiavone what she learned about pro-wrestling shooting the film, Lewis answered: “One thing I learned about pro wrestlers, you all know you’re going to win before anybody else does. So thank you for teaching me that.”

According to backstage reports, many AEW stars were not happy with Lewis exposing the business like that especially before the main event match of Jon Moxley versus Cope for the AEW World Championship.
