Mercedes Martinez retirement tour has ended and so has her in-ring career.
Martinez injured her ACL in a match with Allie Katch. She will require surgery and so she has decided to cut the tour short and retire from the squared circle.
On X she wrote: ” With a heavy heart, the #LastRunTour is over. Aug 15 @2CWrestling, knee gave out during my match w/ @AllieKATCH. Torn ACL. Surgery tbd. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and supported me. Not goodbye to wrestling. Just goodbye to the in-ring portion. Mercedes.”

Martinez has been wrestling for 26 years and everywhere she has wrestled she has made an impact. She has wrestled for Shimmer, Ring of Honor, World Xtreme Wrestling, Women Superstars Uncensored, WWE, Impact and AEW. In that time she has been part of the Mae Young Classic, won the ROH Women’s World Championship and a massive star in Shimmer.
In 2019, Sports Illustrated ranked her 10th in its top 10 women’s wrestlers and in 2011 she was ranked second in the top 50 female wrestlers in the PWI Female 50 list.
