It looks like it’ll be a wild ride to The Crockett Cup, as we have a tune-up match with two new tag teams and the women of the National Wrestling Alliance will mix it up in the main event as Pretty Empowered faces against Labrava Escobar and La Rosa Negra.

We come to you from StudioOne in Highland Park, Il. Joe Galli, Tim Storm, and Danny Dealz have the call, as we start with our First Match of the night and it’s for the…

NWA Women’s Television Championship: Kenzie Paige(c) vs. Sierra

Paige has one title defense to her name and Sierra is still looking to make a name for herself in the NWA.  As always, the Television title is contested with 6:05 on the time clock.  As the match starts, Sierra extends her hand in sportsmanship and Paige slaps it away. Sierra starts strong against the Pretty Empowered champ with a headlock takedown and follows up with shoulder tackles and caps it off with a corner elbow. As Sierra sets up and attempts a hip attack, Paige ducks out of the way and lands a mean clothesline at the 4:22 mark.  Now Paige slows the pace to stalk her opponent and at 4:09 she gives Sierra a snapmare followed by a vicious kick to her back.  Sierra has more offense in store as she nails a flash Shotei, followed by a German suplex.  At the 3:23 mark, she gets Paige with a  back elbow and follows up with a corner sliding elbow.  Sierra connects with double knees and then picks her up for a short-arm clothesline to cover for a two count.  Sierra is firing on all cylinders and attempts a kick that misses the mark.  With 2:49 left, Paige delivers with the Kenzie Cutter Outta Nowhere, and she puts away her strongest challenger to date.

Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA Women’s Television Champion:  Kenzie Paige

That’s two wins down, and Paige inches closer to defending her title seven times to get a shot at The Burke.

May Valentine is backstage with the current NWA National Champion, EC3.  Apparently, he and BLK Jeez were to team up for The Crockett Cup, but that will be put on hold as Valentine acknowledges Jeez is away due to illness. As EC3 is sad about that, he has to also focus on the fact he will defend his belt against “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason during the two-night pay-per-view event.  EC3 points out euphemistically that Mason is a “special” competitor with “special needs,” and that’s why he acts the way he does.  He also compares Mason to a dog and promises that after he wins, Mason will obey EC3 just like a dog.

Speaking of The Crockett Cup, we have a preview of the talent heading into the tournament with this…

Crockett Cup Tune-Up Match: Kratos and Odinson vs. Jordan Clearwater and Cyon

This is definitely something of an odd pairing with the Asgardian and The Most Feared, as Cyon and Clearwater are in the same stable as part of Austin Idol’s IdolMania (who is conspicuously absent at ringside).  The start of the match has each wrestler tag their respective partner in the ring to figure out the best way to get the upper hand until it settles on Kratos and Cyon finally locking up.  Kratos gets Cyon on a mistimed move and then sends him to the corner to tag Odinson, but the masked man is able to ground the Asgardian.  Clearwater tags in thinking he is in good shape, but Odinson manages to take down the Golden Boy easily, and he nails his signature spinning Asgardian uppercut to his back to cover for a two count.  Kratos comes back in to deal more damage, and then he and Odinson double-team with the Asgardian picking up his tag partner and then spinning him in an F5 that makes The Most Feared land onto Clearwater in a splash.

He then chops away at Clearwater and launches him to the other side of the ring with his release vertical suplex, making him a Golden Boy in Peril.  As Odinson continues to do damage, Clearwater rakes his eyes and then kicks him off the turnbuckle to beat him down.  He gets the tag to Cyon and he hammers away until Clearwater tags back in continue to beat him down.  Odinson manages to get The Golden Boy with a  back Asgardian uppercut and gets the hot tag to Kratos, who becomes The Most Feared en Fuego.  They isolate Cyon and Kratos nails him with a flapjack to the mat, and Odinson punctuates it with The Asgardian Pounce.  Kratos covers, and as Clearwater tries to make the save, he backs off after seeing Odinson come after him.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Odinson and Kratos

Odinson and Kratos looked like they mesh well as a team, and this victory gives them the confidence needed going into The Crockett Cup.

May Valentine walks to the other new tag team entering The Crockett Cup in Thom Latimer and Rhett Titus. Titus promises they are going straight to the finals and once it’s over, they’ll share the spoils over a few non-alcoholic beverages.  Latimer agrees and respects his partner’s prowess in the ring, and says when it comes to the tournament, it’s going to be them versus the world.

We head back to ringside as your next match is a triple threat match between…

Alex Taylor vs. Koa Laxamana vs. Fodder (with Angelina Love)

Of the three men in the ring, Laxamana is more famous to the Illinois fans at ringside as the “Hawaiian Hitman” and has wrestled in promotions like Southland Championship Wrestling, where he is currently the Genesis Champion.

That said, the action in the squared circle is a frenzy of action.  Fodder upends both men and gets a lick of pleasure from his Psycho Girl.  Taylor kicks into another gear as he sends Fodder and Laxamana to opposite sides of the ring corners, and then nails Laxamana with a bulldog as he gives a shotgun dropkick to Fodder.  He covers the Hawaiian to get a two count.  Fodder recovers and sends Laxamana to the corner and in the other, he bites Taylor on the face.  Now as he gets his neck in a cravat, Laxamana spears both men in the corner and clotheslines Fodder but Taylor returns fire with a dropkick that sends the Hawaiian Hitman into the corner.  Before he does more damage, Love gets on the ring apron and with Taylor distracted, the Psycho Boy uses the opportunity to attack from behind.  He is handed his trusty e kendo stick, but the ref takes it away from him.  As Fodder pleads his case, Taylor rolls him up for a two count.  He then sends Fodder out of the ring and Laxamana comes back to set Taylor up for a vertical suplex, but he escapes and delivers the Hair of the Dog (Michinoku Driver) for the pin and the win.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Alex Taylor

Valentine is now with Magnum Muscle, Big Strong Mims and Dak Draper. They’ll face La Rebelion next week on NWA POWERRR for the NWA Tag Team titles.  Mims is very emotional as he tells Valentine he is not over what happened at NWA 312. He can blame Blunt Force Trauma or Rebelion for coming up short, but he states the blame is on them, and they cannot afford to take this title shot lightly and guarantees they will finally claim the big prize.  Draper chimes in and tells MechaWolf and Bestia 666 that the clock is ticking and their time is up as champions.

It’s time for the Main Event and it’s women’s tag team action between…

Pretty Empowered (Ella Envy and Roxi) vs. La Rosa Negra and Labrava Escobar

As the bell rings, Escobar and Envy start, and the Pretty Empowered one taunts her and Negra as only a Mean Girl would.  Escobar does not take too kindly and kicks her in the thighs, followed by dropkicks to the knee, and then knees Envy in the side to cover for a quick two count.  Envy recovers and slams her head into the top turnbuckle and Roxi tags in, but Escobar decapitated her with a nasty clothesline and tags in  Negra.  La Abusadora takes the young star to school and pops her with an elbow, followed by a spinning Alabama Slam to Roxi.  Before she can pin her, Envy breaks it up, and Pretty Empowered go for a double team, but Negra breaks out and sends Envy out and elbow drops Roxi to get another two count.

Escobar tags in and she and Negra nail a double back elbow.  Escobar covers for another two count, and as she sets her up for more offense, Roxi fights back and shoves her into the corner where she and Envy double team and keep her isolated in the corner, making her a Labrava in Peril.  Roxy keeps her grounded but Escobar fights up to a vertical base and nails a step-up enzugiri.  She crawls to her side and makes the hot tag to Negra and she is a Black Rose en Fuego.  Envy fends her off with forearm shivers and then a mule kick, but Negra counters with a bow and arrow until Roxi breaks the submission hold.  The match breaks down between the four women, and after the dust settles and the ref gets some semblance of order, Escobar is left with Pretty Empowered, who finish her off with double team facebuster to cover for the one, two, and three.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Pretty Empowered

Envy and Roxi are pleased with their efforts as the show rolls to the credits.

Final Thoughts:

An overall solid show by the NWA.  The odd tag pairings make for some interesting matchups as we inch closer to The Crockett Cup.  Again, Paige is hitting her stride, as are her Pretty Empowered stablemates in the main event.

For now, see you in seven!
