Kimber Lee is hanging up her wrestling boots.

The former NXT, Impact, Shimmer and Shine superstar announced via her Twitter account that she is leaving the business.

“At times, wrestling was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I have been to places and I have gotten to see things that I would never have dreamed of in my lifetime. But, at the same time, there comes a point in everyone’s life where things just cannot continue in the same fashion that they have because circumstances and goals evolve and change,” she wrote.

Lee says that she has been working on herself recently and is “facing some harsh realities”. She was just going to take a break from the business but she also realized that it would be “too painful to return”.

“The more I think about it, the more I come to realize my heart just isn’t in it anymore,” she stated. “Kimber is going to step away from the squared circle and Kimberly Frankele is going out into the world, ready to become something amazing.”

Lee began her career 12 years ago and was the first woman to graduate from The Combat Zone Wrestling Academy. She went on to wrestle in CZW, Shine Wrestling, Shimmer, Chikara, WWE, Stardom and Impact Wrestling.

In Shimmer, she held their championship once and held the tag titles there with Cherry Bomb. She was a two-time tag team champion in Shine with Cherry Bomb and Stormie Lee.

She was part of the Mae Young Classic in NXT but was defeated in the quarterfinals by Mercedes Martinez and in Impact she primarily teamed with Deonna Purrazzo and Susan.

Last year, Lee (real name Kimberly Ann Green) accused NXT star Nash Carter (real name Zachary Green) of physically abusing her during their marriage when Carter was fired from NXT for imitating Hitler in a photo taken years ago.
