Rumor has it that Bobby Fish won’t be renegotiating his AEW contract.
Fightful Select reports that Fish’s contract is coming up soon and he will not be returning to the company.
With Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly injured, Fish hasn’t been on AEW television since he joined them in turning on the Young Bucks on a recent edition of Dynamite.
Like many AEW stars he received a big push when he joined the company in June of last year. He has had approximately 27 matches with the company since that time, his first being against Sammy Guevara for the AEW TNT Title. In his last match he defeated Blake Li in under three minutes on AEW Dark in July.
Although it is too early to tell where Fish will land if he officially leaves AEW some wonder if he would return to WWE now that Triple H is in charge which might be the beginning of a trend where AEW stars jump back to the WWE since the climate there has changed.
A few weeks ago Fish spoke to Rewind, Recap, Relive and said: “There’s a chance now with Hunter back doing his thing there that things could return or maybe become something entirely new and different. But, under him, I just can’t see anything in the wrestling business that he’s got a hand in not being successful. I’m obviously biased and partial to the man, but I would go to war for him seven days a week.”
