Feds, SEC investigating Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon’s legal issues just got a whole lot worse.

Sparked by reports by the Wall Street Journal, the Securities and Exchange Commission and federal prosecutors are now investigating the alleged hush money payments McMahon made to several women in order to keep the details of their relationship a secret.

According to The Wall Street Journal the new federal investigations are what prompted McMahon to announce his retirement last week.

On Monday, the WWE announced in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that they will be restating their annual financial statements for the past three years to adjust for monies paid by former CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon, allegedly in relation to his sexual affairs. The changes will reflect the unrecorded expenses in updated reports for 2019, 2020, 2021 and this year. McMahon supposedly paid almost $15 million to the women in question.

McMahon is currently being investigated by the WWE Board of Directors and several law firms for allegations of misconduct. Former head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, is also being probed for misconduct allegations.
