Dynamite is coming off of one the best PPV that AEW has even put on. Are they following up with just a run of the mill show? Nope, it’s BLOOD and GUTS time! The main event features a PPV quality match on free TV; there are two rings on the floor tonight and I think we are all here for that. Let’s get right to the action.

Before the match, Lambert demands to see Trent and Chuck’s manager licenses. Well, they don’t have one, so the Best Friends have to go the back. Page dumps Orange to the and disrespectfully steps on him. Orange counters a hip toss, sending Page to the floor. He hits the suicide dive and follows with a flying cross body back in the ring. A shoulder block knocks Orange to mat. Ethan delivers a vertical suplex. Cassidy surprise Page with a roll up, but he kicks out at one and then sends Orange to the floor with a big kick. Page distracts the ref as Lambert taunts him.

After a commercial break, Orange dodges Page in the corner, but then catches a round house kick to the face. Page hits a brain buster, but only gets a two count. Orange Cassidy slips out of the Ego’s Edge. Page looks for it one more time, but Orange counters with a hurricanrana. Lambert trips up Cassidy as he went up top. Page took advantage slamming him to the mat. Cassidy counters a vertical suplex with Stundog Millionaire. He follow with a spinning DDT, but Page kicks out of the pin. Lambert jumps to the apron and Cassidy messes with him. Page misses a punch and Orange hits the Orange Punch. Cassidy body slams Page and covers. He gets the three count for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Orange Cassidy

After the match, the Best Friends hit the ring to celebrate.

Christian Cage joins Tony Schiavone on stage before his match. Christian isn’t dressed to compete, though. He was asked by upper management to apologize to Jungle Boy over the remarks about his father. Christian has never apologized and he doesn’t start now. He is sorry that Jungle Boy’s family isn’t dead so they didn’t have see the beating he took last week. Cage did request a match, but he never said it was for him. Enter Luchasaurus.

Max Caster and the Gunn Club vs. Danhausen and FTR

Well, this is just weird. Danhausen teaming with FTR is just unnatural, but you couldn’t ask for better partners. They are draped in gold. Cash Wheeler works over the overmatched Austin Gunn and tag in Dax Harwood. FTR team up to take down Austin, allowing Danhausen to hit an elbow drop. Danhausen fights off all three members of the opposition, until Colton nearly takes his head with a lariat.

After a commercial break, Dan gets the tag. He is joined by Cash, taking down the Gunn boys with German suplexes. Harwood hits 6 in a row on Austin. Gunn blocks a hip toss and hits a neck breaker. Both men are down and Danhausen wants the tag. He delivers a pump kick to Gunn and looks fore the curse. Billy Gunn distracts the ref and Anthony Bowens hits the ring. He can walk! He takes a swing at Danhausen with the crutch, but misses and nails Austin. Danhausen covers Gunn and gets the three count.

Winner via pinfall: Danhausen and FTR

After the match, the Acclaimed and Gunn Club have words. Billy breaks them up by pushing his own son. The Gunn boys walk off as Billy stays with Caster and Bowens.

Sanjay Dutt and Jay Lethal want Samoa Joe to defend the Ring of Honor Television championship.

Jade Cargill (champion) w/Kiera Hogan and Stokely Hathaway vs. Leila Gray (challenger) – TBS Championship Match

Winner…and still TBS Champion…via pinfall: Jade Cargill

After the match, Jade calls out the fans and the locker room complaining about her matches. She demands Stokely find her some real competition. Hathaway calls Athena and Kris Statlander lazy. They run to the ring to show how lazy they are. Athena and Statlander take it to Jade and Keira. Stokely gets in Leila Gray’s ear and she jumps in to save Cargill and Hogan. Jade wants no part of thanking her though.

The Young Bucks wants to know where all there friends are? Everyone is hurt and the only ones left that can relate to them are the championship belts. Yoshi-Hashi and Goto want a crack at them, but first they have to beat the Bucks in a non-title match.

Chris Jericho, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hagar, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara w/Tay Conti vs. Santana, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley – Blood and Guts Match

Jim Ross comes out to call the match. Remember kids, the match doesn’t officially start until all 12 men are in the cage, and the match can only be won by submission or surrender.

Sammy Guevara and Claudio Castagnoli start things off. Claudio picks up Sammy like a child and whips him turnbuckle to turnbuckle; and here come the uppercuts. Sammy climbs the cage, but Claudio brings him down the hard way, crotching him on the ropes. Sammy does escape, spring boarding from rope to rope. Sammy counters an elevator uppercut with a cutter. Sammy takes time to kiss his girlfriend, but this allows Claudio to set up the big swing. Luckily for Sammy, it’s time for Daniel Garcia to enter the match and he breaks it up.

After the commercials, Sammy and Daniel are still double teaming Claudio, but he survived. Wheeler Yuta hits the ring and starts handing out German suplexes like they are candy. Claudio hits an uppercut on Guevara as Yuta suplexes him. Jake Hagar hits the ring, catching Yuta coming off the top rope. He tosses Yuta aside and sets his sights on Castagnoli. The two trade shots in the middle of the ring. Claudio with a spring board spinning uppercut. Sammy gets back to his feet to double team Claudio. Yuta with a shotgun drop kick to Hagar.

Enter Jon Moxley, with a chair. He clotheslines Sammy and Garcia in the corner. Claudio hits Hagar with a bulldog on a chair as Mox rakes Garcia face across the cage. He then goes to work on him with a fork to the forehead. Claudio picks up Sammy and drops him into a cutter from Mox.

Angelo Parker enters the match, and he gets stalked but the Blackpool Combat Club. He can run, but he can’t hide. Claudio with a gut wrench slam. Yuta hits a Michinoku driver. Mox and Claudio send him back and forth with uppercuts. The JAS start to fight back with the number advantage.

Parker tries to keep Ortiz from entering the cage. He muscles his way in and starts dealing clotheslines to any member of the JAS that get in his way.

After the commercial break, Matt Menard hits the ring with a chair in hand. He chokes Mox as the JAS put the boots to him. Well, this is about the time these type of matches devolve into chaos. Santana enters with a table and a barbed wire baseball bat. He chops Menard into the corner and then suplexes him. Santana tries to deliver a uranage to Garcia and looks like his knee gives out. Santana stays down.

Menard has Ortiz in a sleeper. Mox stabs him with a metal skewer. Matt hits him with a low blow out of desperation. He chokes Mox with the barbed wire bat. Yuta and Garcia engage in a slap fest in the middle of the double ring.

Chris Jericho hits the ring with his bat, Floyd. The offense is short lived, as Ortiz takes down Jericho. Sammy hits him with a flying cutter. Yuta hits Guevara with a German suplex. Garcia gets hit with the elevator uppercut from Claudio. Jericho hits Castagnoli with a code breaker.

Eddie Kingston is the last man in, kendo stick in hand and the match has officially begun. Eddie goes to town with the kendo stick making a beeline for Jericho. He pounds Jericho in the corner. Kingston pulls out a bottle of something, rubbing alcohol? Hagar attacks him before he can use it. Tay Conti passes Jericho a bottle through the cage. Yuta and Mox team up to hit Garcia with a doomsday device. Hagar is power bombed through a table. Claudio starts to tear up the canvas and padding of one of the ring. Menard is body slammed onto thumbtacks, while some how Parker is left hanging from the scaffolding between the cage walls.

Chris Jericho locks in the Walls on Moxley on the thumb tacks. Kingston throws a handful of thumb tacks in Jericho’s face. Eddie pummels Jericho and tosses him into the cage. Jericho sprays a fire extinguisher into Kingston’s face. Conti takes out a ref and steals the key to the cage. Ruby Soho, not Riott, runs down and cuts her off.

AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts 6/29/2022
5

Little Ceasers Arena, Detroit, Michigan

That’s right, this show was a five out of five. Orange Cassidy and Ethan Page had a solid match to start of the night. Sure, there were two squash matches in there, but they were just saving room for Blood and Guts. Oh, did I mention that Danhausen teamed up with FTR?! Yup, you read that right and it was glorious. As for the show’s namesake Blood and Guts. It delivered in every way. I’m going have to check my cable bill because I can’t believe AEW gave this away on free TV.
