What’s worse than being fired once by the WWE? How about being fired twice in eight months?
After being let go from the WWE last April, Samoa Joe has been release once again.
Joe posted this goodbye message to NXT on Twitter:
Extremely fortunate and grateful to all the young & amazing talent I had the pleasure of working with in the past months. Only saddened at the loss of an “excuse” to see their continued growth & achievement . I am very excited for there future,….. and mine 🙃

After recovering from an injury and being suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE’s wellness policy, Samoa Joe replaced Jerry Lawler on Raw commentary in April of 2020. Joe was then released on April 15, 2021.
Two months later, Triple H rehired Joe bringing him back to NXT television. Joe was initially William Regal’s enforcer but later returned to in-ring action defeating Karrion Kross at TakeOver 36 to become the NXT Champion for the third time. At present, Joe is the only three-time NXT Champion.
Less than a month later, Joe vacated the championship stating he was injured and couldn’t compete right before the NXT brand change. Since the NXT brand switch Joe and his absence have never been addressed on NXT television.
Joe joins Timothy Thatcher, Danny Burch, Hideki Suzuki and others who have been released from NXT this week.
