MLW Battle Royale match
Joining contestants: Andrew Everett, Sofly Manny Lo, Flip Sequoyah, CJ Gallows, LeBron Kozone, Azteca 44, Diego Hill, Ikuro Kwon, Okumura, Jumbo, Glasgow Boys on Top, and Don Gato. Many names here were debuting athletes, so we’ll have fun with this. Manny Lo stupidly tried to go up against Jumbo and was floored for his minimal effort.
Our first elimination being Manny at LeBron’s hand. Flip closely followed suit when he thought he had Jumbo, a momentary delusion as he’s discarded overboard. Everett was kicked in the face and fell onto the floor by Ikuro. He and Okumura have been teaming up to take Jumbo down. Alas, CONTRA were taken out.
Don Gato may have taken Azteca 44 out, yet he also took himself as well. LeBron, Diego, the Glasgow Boys on Top, and Jumbo were left. Since Kozone eliminated Mark Coffey, he was instrumental in causing LeBron to lose, too, by working with Wolfgang, who was still in the ring, grabbed hold of Kozone’s hand and delivered a clothesline.
Just as Hill was preparing himself, Wolfgang was laying and waiting as he tossed Diego over the ropes. It was only a matter of time for Jumbo to win this Battle Royale as the last man standing.
Winner: Jumbo
We recently found out that Joe Coffey launched the attack on Teddy Long, so this Grudge match with Coffey and Kozone was imminent. The man outright bragged about the violence he inflicted upon someone who didn’t deserve this. According to Tom Lawlor’s interview with Joe, Teddy made fun of Coffey’s accent… are you serious??
Anyway, despite Kozone’s anger and skills, Coffey was capable of keeping up with the man. They almost felt equally matched. LeBron displayed impeccable Muay Thai striking abilities, especially that leg sweep. Coffey managed to temporarily pull the rug from beneath LeBron’s feet when he performed that body splash. Regardless of how well LeBron was doing, Wolfgang and Mark had to distract him long enough, so Joe could roll and compress him into a pin.
Mistico had his eyes on that National Openweight Championship Austin Aries has been fettling with. He wants to engage in a Triple Threat title match against Aries and Averno.
The Good Brothers vs. The Skyscrapers (c) – Tennessee Tornado World Tag Team Championship match
There was a bit of shoving before the bell, which was surprising that they waited that long to really start tearing the other apart. I love no rule matches. There’s no need to worry about legal men or disqualifications. The Good Brothers played as a team to slam Donovan against the mat. Anderson and Gallows seem to be the ones with the upper hand.
The presence of a table excites the audience into a frenzy. Dijak flew over the ropes and landed on both of his opponents after seeing what they were setting up. Bishop Dyer was on his feet and using a crutch to punish Doc’s spine. Dijak found a kendo stick and proceeded to harm Karl with it.
The champs have regained the momentum with the assistance of chairs, kendo sticks and fists. Anderson swooped in just in time to save Gallows from being thrown onto the table setup on the floor. While Doc hunted down Dijak, Karl kept focus on Dyer. Karl tripped Bishop face first against a chair. Dyer retaliated with Deep Six.
Dijak was brought back inside the ring, but commentary thought it to be a bad idea since the Skyscrapers put Gallows down while Karl was still recovering from that previous whiplash. Anderson dragged himself to a vertical position and fought as hard as he could in a 2-on-1 situation. Karl pulled out a neckbreaker on Dijak.
Oof, damn! That discus boot strike to Gallows was painful to watch. He must have seen Lucky Charms at some point. Dyer slammed Anderson onto the mat, and Dijak thought they had it won with that Moonsault. Lucky for everyone except the Champions, Karl stayed in the game. The shock on Donovan’s face was hilariously stretched. They got mad with the referee because it felt like a three count.
This minor setback forced the Skyscrapers to readjust their plans. As they were about to execute it, Gallows woke up from his unwanted slumber to hit Dijak’s head with a trash can lid as he collapsed through the table. Dyer was baffled silly as he’s left alone at the mercy of a successful Magic Killer.
