Hello, hello, everyone!
Ikuro Kwon vs. Andrew Everett – Opera Cup Opening Bound match
Everett dodged an incoming Kwon, tripped and kicked him before delivering a standing Moonsault. Andrew was moving at a lightning speed that I was somewhat surprised that Ikuro hadn’t gotten his foot in. A setup as Kwon retaliated with double the aggression.
At some point, Kwon stomped on Everett’s ankles in a sadistic manner. Andrew managed to flip his opponent with a belly-to-belly suplex. Ikuro being helpless slightly annoyed Josef Samael to yell Kwon’s name. Nevertheless, Andrew was on his knees numerous times, especially after that Sling Blade flatliner combination that contorted his body to absolute hell.
Later on, Samael saw that Kwon was in trouble in the corner as he witnessed him headbutting his challenger. Josef grabbed onto Andrew’s leg and was warned off. Meanwhile, Ikuro sprayed Everett’s eyes with orange/red mist, then he executed Andrew with the Shining Wizard.
Winner: Ikuro Kwon
Wolfgang vs. Big Damo – Opera Cup Opening Bound match
At the start of the match, Big Damo had Wolfgang trapped in a headlock that was tight enough to slow down the attempted escape. They were bumping shoulders, trying to drop the other, but neither of them could achieve that. Even when they took to the floor, they wouldn’t budge. Damo squashed Wolfgang with a heavy crossbody that came out of nowhere.
Wolfgang hasn’t gone down, however, Damo made matters more difficult since he remained on his feet far longer than his opposition. A crossbody into the corner from Wolfgang wasn’t sufficient to upheave Big Damo. The crowd appreciated Wolfgang’s superplex that may or may not have tweaked his knee in the process. Big Damo was hurt, too, so that’s good.
An impressive slam from Wolfgang, carrying all that weight, temporarily stunned Big Damo. As comeuppance, Damo had his knees up when Wolf came crashing down with a Swanton. Horrifically, Big Damo dropped Wolfgang on his head to advance.
Winner: Big Damo

Killer Kross & Matt Riddle vs. The Skyscrapers – New York City Street Fight match
The bell rang only a second or two after Kross and Riddle charged first towards Dijak and Bishop. Since this is one of those cathartic fights, I’ll be enjoying this way more. Matt dealt with Josh, while Killer had his sights on Donovan. Kross whacked Dijak with a trash can lid twice by popular demand.
Riddle came in with a chair to Bishop, then he knocked Dijak with a vicious forearm. Luckily for Donovan, Josh saved him to allow him some reprieve. While Dijak was taking a breather, Josh didn’t see Kross coming with that metallic lid aiming for his head. Matt could leave that corner now.
Later on in the match, Dijak was stalking Kross, so Scarlett got in-between only to be shoved by Donovan’s sweaty hands. She spat beer, I suspect, in his face, then Kross came and bonked another onto his forehead. Bishop had a trash can concealing his upper body as Kross and Riddle whipped him with kendo sticks. The Skyscrapers made a comeback as Bishop attacked Kross with the same weapon.
A Moonsault to Riddle didn’t pin him. Bishop and Dijak came close to winning. Given how Kross was swatted into obscurity for a bit, the Skyscrapers were preparing Matt for a double choke slam onto a table if Killer hadn’t stopped it. A small brawl ensued in the middle of the ring as both Matt and Killer had their crotches rung.
Fortunately, Killer and Matt countered by chucking bodies around. A Diamond Cutter somehow barely phased Bishop as he tossed Riddle outside and drove Kross through that earlier table for a successful takedown. Dijak was flabbergasted by that accomplishment.
Winners: The Skyscrapers
