The lineup for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown has been confirmed.
Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown was taped following Monday’s edition of Raw from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and will air on the USA Network in the U.S. and Netflix internationally. Three matches are set for the show, including a major Triple Threat match to determine the next challenger for Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk.
Kevin Owens will open the show to address the WWE Universe, but he will be joined by Punk, Gunther and Finn Balor. The confrontation leads SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to book Owens, Gunther and Balor in a Triple Threat Number One Contender’s match.
The women’s division will also be featured as Tatum Paxley goes one-on-one with Michin, while former WWE Women’s United States Champion Jacy Jayne faces Paige.
Elsewhere, Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green will team with Tiffany Stratton to take on The Irresistible Forces, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, in tag team action.
Blake Monroe is scheduled to appear for an interview, while Nick Aldis will meet with Danhausen backstage.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will also come face-to-face once again ahead of their match at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
