Penta has reportedly emerged as a leading candidate for the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match after his recent performance against Roman Reigns.
Four wrestlers have already qualified for the match, with Penta joining Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Bron Breakker. Two more competitors are still to be determined ahead of Money in the Bank.
According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, several members of WWE’s creative team now view Penta as the “heavy favourite” to win the match and secure a future world championship opportunity. However, Penta reportedly was not being considered for the victory as recently as SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns Match Reportedly Changed WWE’s View Of Penta
The change in thinking reportedly follows Penta’s World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns on Raw in Mexico City. Although Penta failed to capture the championship, his performance reportedly received a favourable reaction backstage. The match also delivered strong viewership numbers for WWE. The response has reportedly led to increased support for Penta behind the scenes and discussions about eventually revisiting his rivalry with Reigns.
WrestleVotes previously reported that WWE believes another match between Penta and Reigns is available in the future. However, there are currently no plans to book an immediate rematch. Penta subsequently secured his place in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on the September 21 episode of Raw.
Originally not scheduled to compete in the qualifier, Penta replaced Solo Sikoa and defeated Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee in a Triple Threat Match to advance to Money in the Bank. With two places still remaining in the match, Penta is now reportedly receiving significant internal support to leave the event with the Money in the Bank briefcase.
