A WWE Hall of Famer has named AAA as the best wrestling show currently on television, praising The Undertaker and Jeremy Borash for their work behind the scenes.
WWE acquired AAA in 2025 and has increasingly integrated the Mexican promotion into its wider product, with wrestlers from both companies regularly crossing over between shows. Speaking on Something To Wrestle, where he has been filling in for Bruce Prichard, WWE Hall of Famer JBL was asked for his thoughts on the growing relationship between WWE and AAA.
“I’m thrilled with this. I thought this was fantastic, and it shows you, obviously, that one owns the other. So it’s not like they don’t work together. But you see stuff like this and you realise the integration is great.”
JBL believes WWE has historically struggled when attempting to integrate other wrestling territories into its product, but feels its approach to AAA has been different.
“WWE has never been great about integrating different territories into them. They’ve always screwed it up. That’s because of an old mindset, which we talked about a bunch with Vince, and for very good reason. But now I think what they’re doing with AAA is fantastic.”
The WWE Hall of Famer also revealed that he has some knowledge of what happens behind the scenes at AAA and singled out The Undertaker and Borash for praise.
“Jeremy Borash and Undertaker are doing a hell of a job. I’m glad I’m privy to a lot of stuff that they do from behind the scenes, so I can hear what they’re saying, hear what they’re talking about.”
JBL went as far as calling AAA the best show in professional wrestling at present, although he acknowledged several factors are working in its favour.
One is that many AAA wrestlers remain relatively unfamiliar to audiences in North America, providing WWE with a fresh group of characters that can also be introduced across Raw and SmackDown.
JBL additionally noted that AAA’s one-hour weekly format makes producing the show considerably easier than WWE’s much larger television schedule.
Despite that advantage, he believes The Undertaker and Borash deserve considerable credit for the finished product.
“AAA have an hour a week, and that’s actually much easier. But even though it might be an easier format to have, Jeremy and Taker are doing an unbelievable, outstanding job.”
WWE Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio Also Serves In An Executive Role For AAA
Rey Mysterio currently serves as AAA General Manager, while The Undertaker oversees creative alongside Borash.
The Undertaker recently confirmed his role as head of creative during an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, explaining that his objective is to ensure AAA has its own identity rather than resembling NXT, Raw or SmackDown.
The crossover between the promotions has become increasingly visible on WWE television. Several AAA wrestlers are currently involved in the eight-man tournament to determine Roman Reigns‘ next World Heavyweight Championship challenger, with one round of the tournament set to take place on AAA programming.
AAA will also present Triplemanía 34 across September 11 and 13.
