WWE has reportedly carried out another round of internal staff cuts, though this time the reported departures do not involve in-ring talent.
Rumours of layoffs began circulating last week, leading to speculation that another wave of wrestler releases was imminent. However, a new report from PWInsider states the latest cuts have instead affected employees working behind the scenes.
According to the report, between two and four staff members from WWE’s social media and digital departments have left the company, although the total number could ultimately be higher. The identities of those affected have not been disclosed.
WWE Released A Number Of Stars Following WrestleMania 42
The reported departures come roughly two months after WWE released several wrestlers following WrestleMania. Those roster cuts reportedly included Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Santos Escobar and The Wyatt Sicks, while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were also said to have left the company after declining new contracts with reduced pay.
The latest reported staff reductions continue WWE’s ongoing restructuring under TKO Group Holdings. Since the merger, the company has undergone several organisational changes, including cost-cutting measures that have affected both corporate employees and on-screen talent.
Backstage staff reductions have become increasingly common in recent years, with the company implementing multiple rounds of layoffs across various departments since 2020 as part of wider business restructuring efforts.
