Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer saw their Women’s World Championship match at WrestleMania 42 was kept shorter than expected, with the reasoning now coming to light.
According to a report from BodySlam+, both competitors were dealing with physical issues heading into the event, leading WWE to limit the match length to avoid worsening either condition on the show.
Despite the reduced runtime, the match still featured key moments. Roxanne Perez became involved during the contest, while Liv Morgan ultimately took control in the closing stages, throwing Stephanie Vaquer into the steel steps before connecting with her finisher to secure the victory and capture the championship.
Morgan also performed her own entrance music live ahead of the match, adding to what became a notable night for the new champion.
Liv Morgan’s Previous Run As Women’s World Champion

Morgan’s last run as Women’s World Champion started at King & Queen Of The Ring on May 25, 2024, where she defeated Becky Lynch to start her second run with the title.
Morgan defended the belt five times and held it for 226 days before she lost it to Rhea Ripley on the January 6, 2025, episode of Raw.
