An emergency request, court filing seeks to prevent UFC Freedom 250 from taking place this weekend.
The Public Integrity Project states that UFC Freedom 250 is produced by a private company and not executive agencies so it does not fall under the the America 250 project.
Their filing insists the Department of the Interior greenlit the private sporting even without first getting Congressional authorization for the various facilities built on the White House law.
The Public Integrity Project is a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit public interest law firm and watchdog group “dedicated to combating political and corporate corruption in the United States”.
Richard Pierce, professor of law at George Washington University, told News 4 Jacksonville that he believes the case will be thrown out as its arguments are weak.
“They can issue what is called a temporary restraining order while they consider the arguments of the case,” said Pierce adding that the Supreme Court could intercede immediately especially considering how many people postponing the event would affect.
UFC Freedom 250 is set to take place this Saturday at 8 p.m. ET and is available to watch on Paramount+.
