WWE has reportedly begun discussing ideas for Drew McIntyre‘s return.
Drew McIntyre has been missing from WWE TV since his defeat by Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. The Unsanctioned Match ended with Fatu hitting McIntyre with a toolbox and then a Springboard Moonsault through a table for the win, and the Scottish Psychopath hasn’t been seen since.
However, the four-time World Champion could soon be on his way back to the company, as WrestleVotes has reported on Fightful Select that WWE has been discussing ideas for his comeback. While McIntyre was part of SmackDown when his hiatus began, the report says he could be moved to Raw, as the Red Brand could benefit from the additional star power.
WrestleVotes also noted that there were plans “on the books” in August, but a change in direction led to this being scrapped.

Why Has Drew McIntyre Been Absent From WWE?
Drew McIntyre’s break from WWE is due to filming commitments. The star landed roles in the Henry Cavill-led Highlander reboot, as well as The Last Druid.
Both movies are now in post-production, and in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that McIntyre has largely finished his filming commitments. Meltzer also noted that McIntyre is starring in a “micro drama” alongside Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu.
“McIntyre should be back soon as most of his acting commitments are over. He recently finished a WWE micro drama that Hendry and Jacob Fatu are also in.”
With Fatu now being part of The Bloodline on Raw, McIntyre could well reignite his feud with the Samoan Werewolf when he returns.
