Questions about Big E’s future began circulating after The New Day was released earlier this month.
Following the departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods from WWE after reported contract-restructuring talks, attention quickly turned to former teammate Big E and whether he would remain with the company moving forward.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Big E is expected to continue as part of WWE’s premium live event kickoff shows and remains highly valued internally. The report stated Big E is viewed as a “valuable presence” within WWE and credited as one of the “key reasons” the kickoff programming has remained successful over the years.
The former WWE Champion has not wrestled since suffering a serious neck injury during a match in 2022. Since then, he has transitioned into a broadcast and panel role across WWE programming while recovering from the injury.
Will Big E Return To In-Ring Action In WWE?
There is still no word on an in-ring return, and Big E has previously admitted he has seriously considered retirement after conversations with doctors about the long-term risks.
“Even if you get your all clear, you’re allowed to get back in the ring, please really reconsider it,” Big E previously recalled one doctor telling him.
He added that hearing medical professionals strongly urge caution made him take the possibility of stepping away from wrestling seriously. Despite uncertainty surrounding his wrestling future, the latest report suggests WWE still sees Big E as an important part of its on-screen presentation.
