Chris Jericho says a TV series based on his first autobiography will reach the pilot stage soon.
With his success in the worlds of both pro wrestling and rock music, it’s little wonder that Chris Jericho has been approached to join the trend in biopic movies and TV series. The Nueve revealed that a show based on his first autobiography, A Lion’s Tale, was in the works during an interview with Skratch N’ Sniff.
Jericho also said that an actor from the Canadian sitcom Letterkenny would be playing him, but wouldn’t reveal who.
“We are actually working on something based on my first book, A Lion’s Tale, that we’ve been working on for a while, doing a TV series based on that.
“We’ve kind of moved it up the food chain, and it’s getting pretty close to filming a pilot, and we do have an actor that is very similar to me when I was first starting out that was from the Letterkenny series, if you ever watch that show.”
Chris Jericho TV Show Will Be Moving To The Pilot Stage Soon
A Lion’s Tale was the first of three autobiographical books Jericho has written, and follows his early life through to his WWE debut in 1999. The Painmaker says that he wants to push the envelope with a full TV series rather than just a movie, and a pilot will be made “fairly soon.”
“So yeah, I mean there might be something very, very soon of not just an autobiography because that’s not enough because I’m, you know, Chris Jericho, right? I always have to push the envelope that we might have a whole actual TV series about kind of the early years of my career which would be a lot of fun.
“So that’s something we’re working on and we’re moving to the pilot stage fairly, fairly soon.”
Jericho went on to say he has been involved in the process since day one. While it’s been a long process, he has helped move it through all of the goalposts so far.
“Yeah, since day one. Like I said, you don’t just go, ‘Hey, let’s do a TV series!’, ‘Let’s make a record!’, ‘Let’s get a record deal!’ You’ve got to put a lot of time into it to get it through all the different goalposts that it needs to get through. But so far, so good.”
Chris Jericho is currently preparing for the 7th Rock N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea, which will see a live edition of Collision airing from the cruise for the first time.
