Chris Jericho will host a unique edition of Collision in November.
In recent months, AEW has been praised for its decision to move Dynamite and Collision to more unique venues around the United States. Now, Chris Jericho has revealed Collision will take place in its most interesting venue to date, the boat hosting his annual Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea.
Making the announcement on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Jericho said the show would be “monumental” as, while Dynamite aired from a previous cruise, it was pre-taped, while Collision will be live.
“There’s something we’re doing on this cruise that we’ve never done before. Obviously, it’s the seventh version of the Jericho Cruise, and we are, for the first time ever, doing a live episode of AEW Collision from the boat itself.
Saturday, November 7th, Collision will be live from Chris Jericho’s Rock and Wrestling Rager at Sea.
This is monumental; we had a Dynamite that we taped, this is live.”
Jericho says the idea came up when he was thinking of ways to keep the cruise fresh for regular attendees.
“When you do something like the cruise for seven years, I know this is your first, but there’s people that have been on all seven of them, believe it or not.
“The idea is you want to keep it fresh and keep it new so that people never know what to expect. We just had the idea of like, why don’t we try and see if we can do a live Collision from sea.”
After looking at the logistics of airing the show live from the ocean, Jericho instead decided to delay the departure of the boat and hold Collision while it was still at port.
“Usually we’ll leave late afternoon, 4:00 or 5:00 pm, boat pulls away, Fozzy starts. This time we’ll stay in the dock still have the party going on, but 8:00 pm Collision will air live from the Jericho Cruise.
“Lots of logistics, lots of bells and whistles, lots of things we had to figure out, but we made it work. It’s the first time ever and we’re really, really excited”
As they won’t need to commit to going on the cruise itself, Jericho says attendees will see the biggest AEW roster they’ve ever seen wrestling on the boat.
“Now, you have a chance to see whoever Tony [Khan] books that night for Collision will be on the boat. They might leave later on that night, but the point is the cruise is gonna start off with an actual all-star Collision line-up, and then we’ll have the section of AEW performers who want to stay for the whole cruise.”
The New Level Announced For Chris Jericho Cruise
Before the announcement of Collision, Chris Jericho had already secured several top stars for the cruise. In August, Austin Creed and Kofi were confirmed for the cruise, as were Harley Cameron, Lady Frost, and Myla Grace. Veterans who will also be appearing include The Hardys and Ted DiBiase.
