Triple H has spoken very highly of the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, labelling it “one of my favourite Rumbles.”
Another edition of the Royal Rumble is in the books, with WWE staging the first-ever Rumble in Saudi Arabia. The pay-per-view saw Drew McIntyre retain the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn, while Gunther appeared to bring AJ Styles’ in-ring career to an end.
As expected, the Royal Rumble matches themselves were the focal point of the night. Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns won the Women’s and Men’s Rumbles, respectively, earning championship matches at WrestleMania 42. The matches also featured notable moments, including the return of Brie Bella and the WWE debut of former AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs, now competing as Royce Keys.
Reaction to the show was mixed, but it received strong praise from Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer. Speaking at the post-show press conference, with fans chanting for Chris Jericho, Triple H explained why the event stood out to him.
“You know, I think this might be one of my favourite Rumbles for a lot of reasons,” he said. “I think the moment that you see here tonight, where Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan are winning the Royal Rumble, but in another sense, it is almost a passing of the torch moment for a lot of talent coming in the door.”
Triple H highlighted the number of newer stars who made their presence felt during the matches, suggesting the night represented a shift toward WWE’s next generation.
“Oba Femi, Je’Von, Trick, Royce Keys, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, Jacy Jayne, Kelani Jordan, Kiana James, Lash Legend,” he said. “All of those folks coming in, making a statement, putting the top people on notice that a new era is upon us, and the future is bright.”
What Was The Backstage Reaction To Triple H Being Heckled At The Royal Rumble Post-Show Event?
Fans in Saudi Arabia directed chants of “We want Vince” and “You f***ed up” at Triple H during the Royal Rumble post-show, though Sean Ross Sapp said there has been no internal reaction within WWE.
The negative chants continue a recent trend at post-shows and come despite Vince McMahon having left WWE in 2024 following serious legal allegations.
