Three matches are now set for WWE Backlash following developments on WWE Raw.
The main event segment saw Roman Reigns confront Jacob Fatu, asking whether he would unite the family or continue down a different path. Fatu made his intentions clear, saying he didn’t need time to decide; he wanted the title.
Fatu spoke about his struggles and journey, claiming he built everything himself and was brought into WWE by Solo Sikoa, not Reigns or The Usos. The confrontation quickly turned physical, with Fatu attacking Reigns and leaving him down in the ring. Reigns recovered enough to confirm they will meet at Backlash on May 9 in Tampa.
Another match confirmed will see Iyo Sky face Asuka. Sky challenged Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Raw, but interference from Asuka cost her the match. Later in the night, Asuka declared she was not finished with Sky, vowing to teach her “one final lesson” at Backlash.
Also set for the event is Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker. The rivalry intensified during the opening segment of Raw, with Rollins blaming Breakker for his WrestleMania loss, while Breakker fired back by saying he didn’t need Rollins to become a main event star.
Rollins issued the challenge for Backlash before leaving, taking a final shot at Breakker by telling him he wasn’t even number two in his own family.

The lineup, as it currently stands, for Backlash on May 9, is as follows:
- Asuka vs. Iyo Sky
- Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker
- WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
