AJ Styles believes Logan Paul is the best celebrity who’s wrestled in a WWE ring.
At WrestleMania 41, AJ Styles had his last match on the Grandest Stage of Them All with a losing effort against Logan Paul. Best known for being a YouTuber and vlogger, Paul has been widely praised for how well he adapted to wrestling from his first match back in 2022, up to becoming a full-time member of the WWE roster earlier this year. Now, AJ Styles has joined the veterans who believe Paul is a natural for the wrestling business.
Reflecting on their WrestleMania bout on the latest WWE Retrospective, the Phenomenal One said that Paul was doing “amazing stuff” in the ring, despite not being seen as a wrestler.
“Logan Paul’s an athlete, make no mistake about it. This guy does some incredible stuff. The first time I actually met him, I tried to give him a compliment and he didn’t know how to take it. So I was like, ‘Man, just take it and just say thank you.’ But then getting to know him, really good guy, really hard worker.
“I mean, constantly working, brain always thinking about something different. I was very impressed with his work ethic, not just in the ring, but in everything that he does. It’s a lot. He may have been our best… listen, I’m stepping out, and I’m going to say this. He may have been the best celebrity athlete we’ve ever brought in. As far as when it comes to the ring, he did some pretty amazing stuff, to not be a wrestler.”
Styles went on to explain that some of his ability to connect comes down to having the kind of face people want to punch.
“There’s something about him and his face, that people wanted to really hurt him. It’s kind of like The Miz, they just ahve a face that people want to hit, and Logan Paul is no different.”
Before their rivalry, Styles says he had no idea how big a celebrity Paul had become through his vlogging and boxing matches. The star believes this previous fight experience means that Paul is able to handle himself in the ring.
“Honestly, I had no idea how big he was. Not only is Logan a boxer, because he is, he can box. He’s also a really good collegiate wrestler, he can wrestle. A lot of people don’t know that. So he can handle himself.”
AJ Styles Would Come Out Of Retirement To Tag With His Sons
While AJ Styles retired after losing to Gunther at the Royal Rumble, he is open to getting back in the ring under the right circumstances. The star said he would welcome the opportunity to tag with his sons, but it would have to be on a show “that matters” and it probably wouldn’t be on the indies.
