Sheamus has shared another update following his departure from WWE.
The former WWE Champion posted a series of training photos on social media, including a double-biceps pose, alongside a message introducing his new in-ring identity and revealing that he will now compete under his real name, Stephen Farrelly.
“It’s just S. Farrelly… nothing more, nothing less,” he wrote.
The post follows several changes to his social media accounts, with Sheamus adopting the handle @SFarrellyPro and removing WWE branding from his profiles. Earlier this month, he also bid farewell to the company, ending his message with “slán mo WWE chairde,” which translates to “goodbye, my WWE friends.”
WWE has since moved Farrelly to its Alumni section, while Fightful Select has reported that his departure followed his decline of a revised contract offer. According to the report, one WWE source claimed the new deal included reduced pay, which Farrelly reportedly viewed as disrespectful given his contributions to the company. Because his contract expired rather than being terminated, he is not expected to be subject to WWE’s standard 90-day non-compete clause.
Sheamus Has Been Keeping Fans Updated About His Recovery From Shoulder Surgery
The former Sheamus has been documenting his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery in recent months and has regularly posted training updates ahead of his departure. He has not wrestled since November 2025, when he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on Raw.
During his nearly 20-year WWE career, Farrelly captured the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, both WWE Tag Team Championships, the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and King of the Ring. The Intercontinental Championship was the only major accolade to elude him, preventing him from completing the Grand Slam.
Farrelly has not announced where he will wrestle next, and there is currently no confirmation regarding his next destination following his WWE exit.
