A lengthy recovery has not dimmed the drive of Sheamus, who has provided a fresh update on his condition months after surgery.
Speaking during an interview with OTB Football, the former WWE Champion detailed how the injury developed and the challenges he has faced since.
“This one’s been difficult, it kind of came out of nowhere,” Sheamus said. “I started noticing my shoulder around May, June, then I had the Clash in Paris with Rusev, it was bothering me, and I thought I tore it. I got a couple of shots in there, and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me.”
The injury forced Sheamus to undergo surgery on December 30, after attempting to work through the issue for several months.
“I really tried to push through it to the point I couldn’t even move my arm. So I had surgery December 30, and ever since then, I’ve been in rehab,” he explained.
Sheamus admitted that his hard-hitting wrestling style has contributed to the wear and tear.
“My thing has always been very physical. I go out there and put on a banger, match of the night, every single time. I don’t care if I get zero build up or a week of build up, my goal is to get the crowd on their feet.”
Despite the setback, Sheamus made it clear he is determined to return.
“I have a lot still to give in this business. I’m just as passionate now, probably more, than I was when I first started, and I want to get back out there.”
