Ricochet has made his feelings clear about the possibility of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods joining AEW amid reports that the former New Day members are expected to sign with the promotion.
Following the August 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ricochet responded on social media to an edited image featuring Swerve Strickland alongside Kingston and Woods, who is now using the Austin Creed name.
“NOBODY wants this!! #Ahaa”
The comment comes amid increasing speculation surrounding the futures of Kingston and Creed. It was recently reported that while sources have stopped short of confirming that the pair have signed with AEW, they are expected to join the company soon.
Ricochet Responded Following Swerve Strickland’s Return To AEW TV
Ricochet’s response also followed Swerve Strickland’s return to AEW television on Wednesday night’s Dynamite, where he quickly crossed paths with Ricochet and The Demand.
Strickland initially confronted “Hangman” Adam Page, Brody King and Bandido before Ricochet interrupted and questioned his involvement in their business. Ricochet eventually told Strickland to leave, prompting Swerve to insult him before heading backstage.
The edited image of Swerve alongside Kingston and Creed subsequently appeared on social media, drawing the former AEW National Champion’s dismissive response.
Kingston and Creed have been free agents since the beginning of August following the expiration of their WWE non-compete periods. They departed WWE on May 2 after declining restructured contracts that included significant pay cuts.
The longtime tag team partners have since been linked heavily with AEW. A recent Fightful Select report stated that sources would not outright confirm their acquisitions but indicated that both are expected to join the promotion soon.
Previous reporting has also suggested that Kingston and Creed are interested in reinventing themselves and exploring a different presentation following their lengthy WWE runs.
AEW has not officially announced either man, and there has been no confirmation of when they could make their first appearances.
With AEW All In taking place at Wembley Stadium on August 30, speculation has naturally emerged about a potential appearance. However, nothing has been reported confirming that Kingston or Creed are planned for the show.
Ricochet’s social media response nevertheless adds another potential element to their arrival should the former WWE stars ultimately become All Elite.
