Ric Flair has addressed recent criticism following a string of controversial comments, appearing to call for a reset in how he is perceived.
Ric Flair shared a message on April 29 acknowledging that he had made incorrect assumptions and admitting fault for some of his previous statements. The comments follow a series of incidents involving public remarks about Ludwig Kaiser, as well as earlier tension with Jim Ross.
“I have apologised, and I have retracted statements. I have made assumptions that are incorrect,” Flair wrote. “Can we just wake up tomorrow and let Ric Flair be Ric Flair. I am 77 with a heart condition and nothing is ever guaranteed.”
Flair also addressed the reaction on social media, suggesting that online platforms have made it easier for public figures to be targeted.
“Let’s just all be at peace,” he added. “People love to attack every celebrity online without using their real name. I’m Ric Flair. Take me for who I am.”
What Did Ric Flair Allegedly Say To Ludwig Kaiser?
The post comes shortly after Ric Flair issued a public apology to Ludwig Kaiser over claims that alleged threats Flair made to Kaiser after Flair thought Kaiser was involved in issues between Charlotte Flair and Kaiser’s then-girlfriend, Tiffany Stratton. Ric Flair stated that these alleged threats had kept him away from WrestleMania 42, a situation that was later disputed by reports from within WWE.
Flair’s latest statement signals an attempt to move past the controversy, while also defending his legacy within the industry.
